Most beliefs about the effects of Brexit seem to have changed little over the past couple of months although there's a mild drift towards gloominess. Except in the case of job prospects where far more now think it will be bad. Perhaps that was one of the considerations behind the Labour Party's change of tack.

It's only gloomy because people have let themselves become gloomy, and that's because I believe hardcore remainers are still looking for negativity across the Internet. Thing is millions of people have now moved on, they accept the result and are getting on with their life, they just want the EU to stop pissing about and move forward.

Really? Where in the exiting the EU terms and conditions does it say we have to pay x Billions as a leaving fee? We had already agreed to pay our commitments to the point we leave, we have also been asking on what legal basis the EU is expecting any money and getting naff all response. This is one major block on progress and it's entirely of the EU's own making.
No, the biggest stumbling block has been the UK's insistence that it would like to hammer out a trade deal alongside negotiations for terms of separation, contrary to the terms that are set out. Another issue is the Irish border, with the UK stating the EU needs to find imaginative solutions to this, as if it was the EU that decided to get rid of the UK rather than the other way round.

The EU are obviously happy to talk about trade as they would talk about it the moment we agree to cough up tens of Billions. Our future trading arrangement is also inextricably linked to our future relationship with the EU. How can we sort out the NI border when we don't know what the trading relationship will be?

Easy, the Government have stated we will be out of the single market and the customs union, therefore it must be a hard border with the usual checks on people and goods. However the Government what things to stay as they are currently, which does not fit with being out of the EU.

Easy, the EU stops trying to hold the trade aspect of our future relationship hostage until we pay a ransom (which has no legal basis) and comes to the table prepared to talk seriously about all these issues which are inextricably linked.

No the EU Are trying to hold us to ransom by demanding the payment settlement before any constructive talks are started. We don't need to pay an actual fee to leave just what we are committed to up until we leave.

Can you clarify this please. Are you saying that it is only the 'hard core remainers' who happened to be among those questioned who are becoming much gloomier about job prospects (but not, it appears, about other things in the survey) - or that these HCRs, ranging across the internet, are persuading other people to be gloomy about their job prospects?
Neither seems plausible to me. An alternative scenario might be that people really are becoming gloomier about job prospects.
Er, that's what they're arguing about - what constitutes that commitment.

Hold the EU to ransom with German car and Proessco purchases then. After all, we were told that the EU simply couldn't exist without these and that they were the UK's big bargaining chip.
