I presume Mattock was injured/crocked because Reyes was trying to play midfield and left back, which didn't really work... His passing was fairly poor also, other than that good defensive performance and Reading scored with a lucky deflection.

Great game to watch. Very open. Crying out, in my opinion for two wingers and Vokes in the starting line-up. We deserved a point, but probably no more.

Brezovan 7. One fantastic save, but at least three kicks straight into touch.
Calderon 7. Good game. He has improved since returning to the starting line-up.
ElAbd 8. Great game. MOM
Greer 8. Also played well apart from a couple of stray balls.
Reyes 7. Did OK. Probably the best I have seen him play since the early games.
Buckley 6. Not influential enough.
Navarro 8. Very good game. Keeps getting better.
Dicker 6. Good to have him back, but not sufficiently creative.
Vicente 7. We seem to give the ball to him too often. He was OK ... some sublime stuff, but he cannot work wonders all by himself.
Barnes 6. Off the boil a bit. Poor penalty.
CMS 3. Did nothing of note. Getting worse. Ball control very poor. A major disappointment. Should have been subbed at HT.

Subs:
KLL 6. One great cross, but didn't see enough of the ball.
Vokes 6. Should have been brought on earlier.
Assulin 6. Hardly saw the ball.

Brezovan 7 - good game, very sound handling
Calde 8 - great game from Calde, got forward well
El Abd 8 - deserved his MOM
Greer 7 - solid
Reyes 7 - best game for a while
Buckley 6 - did not dominate. Actually had his best spell before being subbed
Dicker 6 - not quite on his game tonight
Navarro 8 - ran the midfield with Vicente
Vicente 8 - classiest player on the park
Barnes 7 - worked hard, shame about the pen
CMS 7 - put in a lively shift, didn't give the Reading defenders much peace

Subs: Lua Lua 7 - couple of great crosses, should be starting
Vokes 6 - he looks slow
Assulin 6 - not much chance to show his skills.

Greer- 7 thought he was struggling for pace a bit tonight but did what he had to
El-Abd- 7 stop the play acting pls Adam
Reyes-6 failed to deliver what he initially promised
Buckley- again, not his normal self sadly
Navarro-9 - best game he has had for us this season - did great
Dicker- 5 sadly not ready
Vicente- 9 outrageously good again - MOM
CMS- 6 feel for him big time - no confidence
Barnes- 7

Gus - got it wrong taking off 2 attackers IMO. Dicker needed to be replaced with another attacker. Weirdly negative tactics as opposed to the normally gung ho gus we expect. 6

navarro 6 - didnt stand out for me
Dicker 6 - not quite with it (till re adjusting after injury)
Buckley 6 - not great today
Vicente 8 - pure class
Barnes 6 - good, but loses a point for the pen...
CMS 5.5 - not really with it

LuaLua 7 - dangerous. Start him!

Brez - 7 looked fairly safe
Calderon - 8 best game defensively for some time.
Reyes - 6 better than in recent games, but still not good enough.
AeA - 9 awesome
Greer - 6 dreadful first half distribution wise. Good second half
Navarro - 8 got through a lot of work and covered Dickers shortcomings.
Dicker - 5 not good enough at this level. Misplaced passes
Buckley - 7 disappointed he was substituted, tho did not get on the ball enough in second half.
Vicente - 8 fantastic on the ball, but the rest of the team need to consider other options as well.
Barnes - 7 penalty unfortunate, good game
CMS - 5.5 Tried hard but was poor.

KLL - 7 couple of dangerous crosses
Assulin - 6 buzzed about to no real effect
Vokes - 6 didn't pick up pace.

Ref - 1 - too bigger game for him.

Peter Brezovan 7 - Did nothing wrong, solid performance without being travelled.
Inigo Calderon 6 - Didn't really get involved going forward too often, but he didn't put a foot wrong defensively.
Gordon Greer 8 - Thought he dealt with Roberts very well, only one misplaced pass and he got forward.
Adam El-Abd 9 - Seemed to love the Roberts battle, he wasn't out of his depth.
Gonzalo Jara 6 - Thought he palyed the position very well, but doesn't appear to have the concentration or determination.
Gary Dicker 8 - I thought he was very good. People disagree, but first half especially, he was playing balls all over the place.
Alan Navarro 6 - I still think he is why we aren't scoring enough goals. We just don't need what he does, in my opinion.
Vicente 7 - Love watching him play, and if his shot had gone in rather than hitting the bar it would have been fitting.
William Buckley 6 - Didn't really get involved in the game, and doesn't seem to like being rotated.
Ashley Barnes 6 - Had a couple of good efforts first half, seemed indicisive with the penalty but it wasn't that bad.
Craig Mackail-Smith 6 - Only had one real chance, which he didn't get a shot away from. Disappointing, again.

Subs
Kazenga LuaLua 7 - Did alright, couple of good balls into the box but not too much of an impact.
Gai Assulin 5 - Not involved, at all. Not impressed so far.
Sam Vokes 5 - Not involved either.

Referee 3 - He'll be disappointed with that. :lolol:

Brezovan 7 - Made some very good saves
Calde 7 -
El Abd 8 - Solid as a ROCK, wound up Roberts well
Greer 7 - Same above bar Roberts
Reyes 7 -
Buckley 6 - Not his best game, hope to see that amazing form he had earlier this season again
Dicker 6 - made some good passes, took too long on a few occasions
Navarro 8 - Played v well, good passing one or two errors but recovered them well
Vicente 9 - Need I even say anything?
Barnes 7 - thought he played well made decent passes, good 1-2s, shame about pen
CMS 5 - almost scored once but apart from that he didn't do much

Subs: Lua Lua 7 - some good crosses should be starting ahead of Buckley IMO

Brezovan - 7 One good save from a header, other than that mostly standard work.

Calderon - 7 Good game both ways
Greer - 7 Solid, couple of bad passes
El-Abd 8 - Excellent, dealt with Roberts just the way he needed to be dealt with. Shame about the face clutch
Jara - 5 A strange mixture of high quality and awfulness. Gives away a foul too easily, led to the goal and a few other potentially dangerous freekicks

Navarro - 8 Great performance, never shoot please
Dicker - 7 Good game especially considering the circumstances but looked knackered by the end, surprised Gus left him on for 90 mins
Vicente - 7 Final ball or shot wasn't quite right today, should have scored first half although only he could have made that chance
Buckley - 6.5 Not at his best but not bad, given a kicking by Harte, ref let repeated fouls go then booked him on the first one he gave, odd
Barnes - 6.5 Decent game, rubbish penalty

Mackail-Smith - 3 Just not up to our passing game and doesn't seem to be there when we are in and around the box, arguably his worst game for us, depressing

LuaLua - 6 Always carries a threat but wasn't quite coming off for him tonight
Assulin - 5 Didn't really make an impact
Vokes - 5 Showed a bit more ability to hold off the Reading defence but didn't do a great deal

Overall a great performance but our flaws were clear to see and not winning when we play like that probably shows why we're just not quite there for the playoffs.

Brezovan 7 - No chance with the goal, generally solid otherwise, but distribution was off, almost always tried to play it to barnes and put it too high for him to do anything with
Reyes 7 - one of his better games since returning, but still too many misplaced passes
El Abd 8 - would have been a 9, but he kicked out at roberts (which is why roberts pushed him), as much as enjoy him riling opponents, I think the kick crossed a line.
Greer 6 - Far too many misplaced passes and bad decisions followed by him abusing others for his mistakes. Also struggled wit Roberts until El Abd took over.
Calderon 7 - Usual performance good going forward, but a bit exposed defensively
Navarro 8 - Strong performance, thought he controlled our midfield second half, at least in the rear two thirds of the pitch
Vicente 8 - Controlled midfield in the top third, unlucky not to score.
Buckley 7 - Didn't get into it enough,kept try to touch it past their full back, but never made it
Barnes 7.5 - Strong all round performance, good interplay. Would have been an 8 or possible more if he scored, or if he didn't go down so easily with a ref who as giving us nothing (I thought the one we got the penalty for was the weakest claim, and think the ref gave it because he realised Barnes' shirt was almost taken off him in the challenge just before it)
CMS 7 - Some flashes of good play, but quiet too often. Confidence, or just the way we're playing?

Lualu 7.5 - couple of good runs, but didn't try to go outside often enough, so wasn't as effective as he could have been.
Assulin - not on long enough
Vokes - not on long enough

Unfair to lose that game, or do anything other than win. Fantastic performance from us, terrible refereeing performance

Dicker 7 - No worse than CMS or Reyes, no better either.

Cracking game and we deserved at least a point but you have to take your chances in a game like that.

Brezovan 7 - Had no chance with the goal and dealt with everything else well. One great save from Ward.

Calderon - 6 Solid but not as influential as he has been.
Greer - 7 Another great performance by the captain.
El Abd - 7 Would have been 8 if not for that rather embarrassing play-acting at the end.
Reyes - 6 Poor distribution at times. Showed just how good Mattock is.

Navarro - 8 Brilliant game. Good passing and broke up play well. I've never seen him drive forward like he did at times in that second half.
Dicker - 6 Very poor first half but better second. He's never one to stand out due to his role.
Vicente - 7 Some sublime moments including that move that put him in on goal in the first half. No excuse not to score from there.
Buckley - 5 I thought he was really poor tonight. Never took on Harte even when he was on a yellow. What's happened to him?
Barnes - 6 Busy and industrious in a workman-like way. His pen looked fairly well hit but we all knew it was going that side.

CMS - 6 Same old situation really. Loads of effort, little service and forced to play with his back to goal.

Brezovan -6 - made a really good save from a header but distribution was poor

El Abd - 10 - MOTM bullied Roberts all night
Greer -4- lacked confidence. Especially opening half hour
Reyes -4- not a natural at left Back
Navarro -8- bossed the midfield. Needs bridcutt along side him
Dicker -6- not looking match fit
Vicente - 9- his first touch is quality. Unlucky shot against bar
Buckley -6- ineffectual
Barnes -8- good team contribution. Unlucky with penalty. Bound to miss one soon.
CMS -5- think he could learn a lot from Jason Roberts

Brez-9 one of his best games, couldn't help goal.
Calde- 9 great again, seem to attack the right more than Buckley and defended well against mcanuff
GG-9 greatgame again.
El-Abd-10 MOM and deserved it, absolute man mountain.
Jara-5 poor defensively, not half the player he was before.
Navs- 7.5 played well and looked comfortable on the ball, made some mistakes though
Dicker-6 comfortable on the ball and good passes
Buckley-6 didn't attack enough, tbf didn't get enough of the ball to do enough
Vicente-9 different class, deserved a goal.
Barnes-6 nice passes, looked better coming in from the left, just lacked that finish, unlucky on penalty just one of those things
CMS-5 couldn't control the ball for s**t, just ran after the ball with no end product, I think the guy is great but it's not working for him, the way he's told to play or the way he plays needs to change if hes going to stay here.

Subs:
KLL-5 couldn't get going vs cummings, should Of came over to the right, would of gave harte a heart attack
Vokes-6 done well to win the ball and hold it up, shame he didn't get supplied enough.
Assulin-5 made some nice touches, but didn't really create anything, he was to close to Vicente, he should of gone wide.
