Mnnn, lots of cars in the clip, only one driver seemingly off his head, 3 cyclists involved in the clip, two of which break the law by failing to stop at a red light, makes it easy to do the maths and come to a conclusion.
Oh dear, so, if they were clocked by a policeman going through a red light their defence would be " Sorry Officer, we were going to fast to stop "
It upholds the argument about cyclists breaking the highway code with impunity. Both could have, and, should have stopped if they had...
The car driver badly in the wrong here, I hope there were cameras monitoring it so that he was clocked and fined ?
However, it does not look good for cyclists as you can clearly see two cyclists riding straight through a red light on the pedestrian crossing 45 seconds in to the clip. Oops !
Physics in action ! One point often overlooked is the fact that cycles can't brake as fast as other vehicles on the road especially if the brakes are poorly maintained and the conditions are wet. Throw in to this the fact that cyclists have invested a lot of energy to get up to speed and really...
I notice on the right hand side news items, #10, 20 mph speed limit to be extended to Saltdean, Rottingdean etc. A good opportunity for our cycling posters to show they are equally good citizens and slow down a little ?
I know a cyclist who was hit by a car. Mind you he was cycling downhill, the wrong way down a one way street without lights and bounced across the bonnet of a car coming up the hill in the correct direction turning right. The car sustained damage, the cyclist a bruise or two but nothing major...
Score draw for me. Motorist was an arse for driving in to the "Cycle " section and then roaring off, cyclist was an arse for steaming up to him and sticking his head in the window to mouth off.
