With regard to cyclists going through a pelican crossing light that has just changed red, I was originally refering to what happened on this video at 44 seconds.
What they did by the law of the road was technically wrong, however in this instance it was perfectly safe.
There were no...
I have never seen a car deliberately go through a red at a pelican crossing so I don't see it as a problem let alone my problem???
I see plenty of bikes do it on a daily basis but not cars. But as I said I don't have a problem with bikes doing it if the pelican crossing is clear.
Firstly, I didn’t say the left hand lane should go faster on a roundabout, I said if you are turning right at a roundabout you have to go slower. If you are going to play this game at least quote me properly.
If you really want to go into this deeper though there are many different types and...
I do
I restrain myself from tooting and only use it in extreme circumstances, otherwise I would be tooting all the time, and when I spot an imbecile driver I will keep more distance.
Don't worry it wasn't me, but if I were turning right I would be driving slower than the car going...
:lolol: I never said they should have immunity from prosecution, I said I don't have a problem with it when I see it. I'm not a policeman, I'm not the law, and I am not the cyclist.
What I do see is you having a problem with me not having a problem, but that's your problem.
Not really, if someone knocks on your front door and runs away, it's not illegal but they are little shits. Just like the person who presses the pelican crossing button when the road is clear, then crosses, and leaves cars stopping for no one.
If the pelican crossing has no pedestrians on it I...
I know it is not illegal, and we can ignore them if we deem it safe.
But this is right off track to what I originally posted about which was that I don't have a problem if cyclists go through a red light at a pelican crossing if there are no pedestrians.
However I do have a problem with...
:lolol: So why does it say "Never cross while the red man is showing."? It has to mean something whether we chose to ignore it or not.
I know we don't get fined for Jay Walking over here, but a red man can only mean one thing.
Don't get me wrong, I don't use Pedestrian crossings the correct...
How to use a Pelican Crossing
At the crossing , stop at the kerb
Press the button and wait for the 'green man' signal to light up. Never cross while the red man is showing.
When the Green Man shows
Check that vehicles are stopping, then walk across, keep looking all around and...
Where there is no pedestrian crossing there is no red man to instruct you, but if you are specifically using a pedestrian crossing it should be used in the way it was intended and designed.
It is not that dissimilar, what does a red man mean?
I am sure it clearly states "Never cross while the red man is showing."
I agree that it is overlooked as a strict rule, but if you get knocked over when crossing the road without a green man indicated it would be your fault.
That's not really what I'm saying. If I see a bike doing it, I am not sitting in my car getting angry, therefore I do not have a problem with it. I am not talking about traffic lights at junctions, just lights at a pedestrian crossing when there is no one crossing.
When I am a pedestrian at a...
I have just had to just pop out quickly to the garage and saw two cyclists on the road without front lights, one of them was riding along the road as I was coming up to the junction and I natrually had to give way.
What did I do?
a) Shout wheres your f...... lights you ....t that's illegal...
