It would be a gamble but I am sure the club scouts will have watched him many times to consider breaking our previous transfer record by over double. If we want a top striker in this division we will have to pay £15mil or take a risk on a player like this.
Looks like he's going elsewhere anyway!
Completely agree, although it would be good to get a deal done sooner rather than later before other European clubs take a chance on him given his goalscoring record last year.
Yes, I would imagine the 'desire' to play in Europe is down to the wages, on that score Fenerbache have us beat with players like Van Persie on their books, however, as far as I'm aware, there hasn't been a concrete bid from them yet, just 'interest'
Some of the defending is a bit suspect but he has also scored goals against some top international sides, I don't think pace is his only attribute, he clearly possesses a ferocious shot too.
Just found out several HAS-BEENS outscored him in 2015
-55 Cristiano
-51 Messi
-49 Lewandowski
-46 Aubameyang, Suárez and Ibrahimović
-45 Neymar
-42 Eran Zahavi
-41 Miller Bolaños
We need to be looking for BETTER
:) Whilst I agree with the sentiment, surely it would be more typical Sun journalism if we were linked to a Premiership player who isn't getting many games for his parent club. If it is completely made up then top marks!
Linked with a £7 million move for this guy in today's Sun. Although the Sun are hardly a reliable source seems strange they'd publish it now unless they just got hold of the rumours from a month or so ago.
What a silly post. I think everyone would agree the clubs who spent large amounts in the previous seasons haven't been punished anywhere near enough. The FFP 'limits' are being relaxed and we can now invest some of the profit we made off the sales of Ulloa/Buckley/Bridcutt
