More people need to listen to Ought - More than any Other Day. It is such a fantastic album, what a debut!!
I need to go any buy that Andy Stott album this weekend.
Thanks for the hip hop Whitechapel - hip hop was my first music love but I don't really follow it anymore, so a summary of the best bits and bobs is appreciated.
Time to bookmark your website- can only go to Sunday, will look forward to your recommendations on that although the evenings kind of dominated by Wire and Swans.
Nice to see the Frankie Cosmos album so far up your list, I gave it a few listens earlier on in the year and meant to get back to it. I also share your views on the Real Estate album, the first track Had to Hear would probably be in my top 10 tracks of the year a great indie pop song.
Just saw Marisse Nadler discussed above, her albums in my top 20 along with Sharon Van Etten which is another blissful female singer songwriter - I Love you but I'm Lost being the pick of the tracks IMO.
I just read Drowned in Sound and Pitchfork, then download any album I fancy the sound of on Spotify, if I really end up liking the album I buy it which runs about 6 or so albums a month.
Just seen the Resident top 100, the war on drugs in at first. I totally get why people like that record but...
No but the key one will obviously be Swans/Wire and at what time to get to the venue prior to guarantee entry, I'm assuming this event wont have the same problem that TGE had with delegates.
If you worried about tickets selling out I'm not sure you should be I'm waiting until I get paid next week but all the bands playing over that weekend are fairly niche what's the event capacity based on? The size of the venus in total?
HT - your obviously an electronic music fan - listen to the new Aphex Twin album!
tinycowboy - the Mirel Wagner album but be a bit quiet, its delicate but there are lots of nice hooks. Your okay with Perfect Pussy but find Swans/Shellac too heavy? Maybe it's just that Swans and Shellac can be a...
FYI this is my top 10 for the year in reverse order.
10. Shellac - Dude Incredible
9. Perfect Pussy - Say Yes to Love
8. Todd Terje - It's Album Time
7. Caribou - Our Love
6. Ought - More Than any Other Day
5. Aphex Twin - Spyro
4. Mirel Wagner - When the Cellar Children See the Light of Day...
Buzzer as somebody who likes everything female, Scandinavian and lush singer songwriter, have you heard of Aurora:
Aurora Aksnes - Awakening: http://youtu.be/MIwuMNOTmdc
Think this might be the only thing she has released so far.
I can't wait till I can get down resident and pick up that RTJ album.
I think the TVOR album is now out on the web for people who know where to look for such things, any impressions?
Belle & Sebastian have released a song of their new album as well, it is very synthy - might have to give it a...
A lot of time before that discussion, the new TV On The Radio album will be out soon.
Swans, Shellac, Mirel Wagner and Sun Kil Moon are in the conversation for me though.
