Dunno why I'm so annoyed about it. I love Confidence Man and they very obviously mime. All about expectations, I guess.

Nah, that's not the same. There's an obvious, ad-libbed "come on" in that Pale Waves video. With Goldfrapp last night, there was literally zero deviation in the vocal from the recording. Only speaking was between tracks. Also... there were no leads in the back of the keyboard, no lights...

Didn't get around to watching that. I see now that many were accusing her of miming. Went to see her at Somerset House last night. She and the musicians were 100% miming. So, so poor!

I used to think it was a shame that the BBC coverage doesn't truly represent Glastonbury. But given the reaction by (some) 6 Music followers to Billy Nomates, it's probably for the best...

Yeah, there's a massive expectation around the headliners now - especially with the streaming and media coverage. Anyone who goes knows that Pyramid stage headliners don't really matter - that there's dozens of others things to choose from. And anyone who's never been doesn't believe them!

Or mobile phones, of course. I was right at the front... but don't actually remember much about it. D'oh! Will have to ask friends!

The only real measure is the reaction of the crowd on the hill. And they looked bored stiff. Totally unfair to compare, but let's do it anyway. THIS is how you f**king rock the Pyramid Stage. Sunday evening, 1999 (before headliners)...

You pay a deposit in advance (more than price of ticket, I believe). If you don't work your allotted shifts, you won't get it back - and you'll get blacklisted from volunteering or purchasing in future.

For those who have never been, but monitor their daily steps... The typical punter seems to have done around 130/140K steps from Wed to Sun. One guy says 188K. And if you want to get an idea of the size of the site, go to https://gsp8181.co.uk/glasto/ and type in your postcode.
