    Looking at the equivalent thread 2 years ago for The official 99th Tour de France thread 2012, there were almost 2,000 comments at 1,858! I expect that there is far less interest without Cavendish and Wiggins, but was surprised at how much less.

    Massive crowds today, again. In going through each large village/small town in East Anglia, crowds have been several rows thick on both sides of the road. ITV/Tour cameras have also shown a lot of historic buildings and locations. This is showing England in good light to viewers already over...

    What a great unorthodox finish (for a non-Alps/Pyrenees stage). All the GC contenders far ahead of the peloton in a battle.

    I realise its commercial TV, but ITV have really gone to town on relentless ads over these last 2 days. Reminds me of the last day coverage each in year in Paris, when ITV do exactly the same. I never watch their time wasting ads, and flick over to Eurosport or look in on the British GP.

    Always been that way, with the same main characters transplanted the C4 predecessor. I assume the same production co. They have a true love of their sport. It's not about them or how much money they can wring from their next contract.

    Like the 2012 Olympics, I pleased the weather has been decent to show England in good light, literally, and not put off the vast crowds watching.

    Looking forward to the TV viewing. Have enjoyed the brilliant coverage going back to the mid-80's (the very end of the Hinault period, Fignon, LeMond, Roche). Even better these days with the top British riders. Liggatt, Sherwen, Boardman and Co do a great job. The scenery is worth the viewing...
