    Dunk - Refusing to play?

Barring death or paralysis there's not a cat in hell's chance of Dunk appearing tonight.

    Dunk - Refusing to play?

After a perfect month this is the first bit of proper bad news for fans. Nice though Tex / Vydra would be, I'd rather we brought in a permanent replacement for Dunk, someone with pace. I was beginning to think we had a rock solid defence there for a moment. Here's hoping Greer can keep going...

    Dunk - Refusing to play?

I can't argue that, technically, when Barnes left we were 7th and we finished 6th but that was due in part to the Lingard loan - we never replaced Barnes and it affected us throughout the 2014/15 season. I'm gonna leave this now. Of far more significance is the fact 34-year old Gordon Greer is...

    Dunk - Refusing to play?

They've called it 2014 01 10, it comes up as 10 Jan 14 on the search. The point is still valid though - we were on the up when Barnes left, we fell away after he left. When you look at that season and 2 points from 15 in games 36-40 it's a miracle we made it in - Oscar Garcia deserves...

    Dunk - Refusing to play?

Wrong. 25 games in, 10 Jan 14 - the day Barnes signed for Burnley - we reached our highest place of that season thus far - 6th. It's on Wikipedia. We spent the next 16 games in positions 7-9 before hanging onto 6th place for the remainder of the season. Our goals tally was poor until Lingard...

    Dunk - Refusing to play?

I mean it worked out badly that we got rid of a good player, couldn't replace him and fell down the table as a result the following year. I know we still managed to reach the play-offs that season but only just - we were 6th when Ash left - and goals were very hard to come by under Oscar in...

    Dunk - Refusing to play?

I can't afford to be sensitive, I'm an accountant! I do think that the last 2 weeks of the window is a surreal time in football. I like Dunk, I like Hughton and I like Andy Nayor but I didn't believe Dunk with his little speech about looking forward to a good season with the Albion when getting...

    Dunk - Refusing to play?

That move worked out well for him, it worked out badly for us as without his goals and industry we almost got relegated. We were doing OK with Barnes in the team even before we signed Ulloa.

    Dunk - Refusing to play?

Fair enough, my bad. The point was more about our best players going to other strong teams in our division, rather than the money. You'd almost take less money to sell to a Prem club that have the risk of selling to a Championship club and it biting you on the arse.

What do you think happened with Bridcutt then? A tearful goodbye at the airport, promises that we'll still remain good friends, it's not you, it's me, etc etc

This is like your girlfriend dumping you but still living in your flat for a couple of weeks until she can move in with her new rich boyfriend, who's currently on holiday with his mates.

    Dunk - Refusing to play?

If the money was equal I bet the club wouldn't have a problem selling Dunk to Newcastle but I'm sure they're seething the interested party is Fulham. The Board will know if fans see us selling our best players to other Championship clubs it tells the rest of the football world we're small...

    Dunk - Refusing to play?

If he doesn't start tonight then he's off. This is why the transfer window ending so late is so sh1t. If it ended on 31 July he'd leave with his head held high a class act, however with all the speculation and bollocks surrounding him he'll probably go under a cloud. I can deal with the loss...

    Dunk - Refusing to play?

We know nothing about how Rea and Dallison will cope with Championship football. But what we do know is this: 1. Dunk CAN cope. 2. He was MOM vs Forest. 3. He scores crucial goals. 4. Right now we are top of the table. Added to this he is a local lad brought up through our system who has...

    Dunk - Refusing to play?

The bonus money from Ulloa covered Murphy plus Bobby's extra wages, Buckley's fee covers Hunemeier and Hemed. Why do we need to sell Dunk to finance anything? I've not even mentioned the Barnes, Bridcutt or main Ulloa fees. And if we sell anyone, sure we sell JFC first?
