Near miss for me.
His style is more suited to Portugese football, as was shown in the season with us, which as you point out resulted in 5 good games [emoji6]

Sorry missed your post as using phone. Re Brentford, yes you did (apologies) I understood Brentford cancelled the loan......
I thought Hughton left him out for a spell and only brought him back after a while (would need to check), I would certainly not say at any point we built a team around...
He did though and I think they cancelled the loan.
Of course just because I am the lone voice on this thread, doesn't mean I am wrong. [emoji6]. NSC is hardly renowned for footballing experts after all. I could also fall into that category as well, especially if Tex signs, he's better than last...
He also spent time on loan at Brentford prior to us.
In terms of Hughton building his team around him, I really don't think that was the case, but if it were, it would explain a lot of things in terms of our final position. [emoji6]
But that's the point isn't it, it feels like a few good games has swung opinion.
I would be interested to see some analysis of his ratings in acker 's player ratings threads.
I can't recall giving him MoM more than 2 or 3 times, which for a flair player in an abysmal team isn't very good.
But then surely you are basing your judgement on glimpses rather than any level of consistency, young or not.
Even Joe Bennett had one or two decent games, but I wouldn't want him either.
1. I really don't think he's that good and simply can't understand the NSC love in when he had about 5 good games last season.
In terms of poor squad etc, the saying big fish in a small pool etc.... Sorry, he was a tiny fish who rarely shone in a very poor pool. Too weak and frequently chose...
I think you are right in that he was improving, and yes Ipswich was one of the 4 or 5 decent games out of the ?30 or so he played, which for me ratio wise is unacceptable.
Whilst he may shine in a better side, alternatively you could argue that if he is as good as people suggest, he would have...
There have been quite a few Tex threads in the last 12 months.
I may be a minority, but I really don't think he was that good for us. Between 4 and 6 good games.
Don't want him back and would prefer Harper to eventually be given a chance.
In terms of Baldock, he would not be a natural...
