Also depends on what he thinks his ceiling is as well. His agent may suggest he stays with us til the end of the season, and then it's more than possible a bigger fish may come along for him in the summer. Perhaps one with guaranteed CL football for next season.
You keep ignoring that I said "globally". Within England you are historically a decent-sized club due to fanbase size.
100% wasn't fishing. Prior to takeover you weren't a big club on the GLOBAL scale - you have a large local following but haven't won anything of any note since 1955.
I'd be...
Yeah it's such a bollocks argument. I don't sing songs about the employees of Uber/Disney, and wear their shirts etc.
Your relationship to your football club SHOULD be totally different to your relationship with a faceless global corporation. Embarrassing that that needs to be pointed out.
I think that meant a lot more a few years ago. Now the game is so global (ie the vast, vast majority of Man Utds/Chelsea etcs fans live nowhere near the club) I don't think it has that much pull. Globally, I would argue they're (until takeover at least) a pretty small club.
I think they've lost any moral high ground. If their complaints about Ashley were purely - and admittedly - about chasing success, fine.
Any issues with Ashley's morals now look utterly ridiculous, and completely hypocritical.
You can’t own 2 clubs in the same competition. RB Salzburg/Leipzig had the same issue, only solved by the owners selling controlling stake in Salzburg.
If the Saudis buy Inter, Newcastle cannot compete in the CL. They will be Inter’s feeder club.
Enjoy it. It’s very, very, very funny.
