Withhold at 40s off an official rating of 91 in a Class 3 handicap. Won the Northumberland plate off 99. Clearly unfancied tonight but is very well in if it ever hits form again.
If your going to have a bet, I think Energumene is the value of the 2.There is seemingly nothing in ability between them and i'd certainly argue that Townend is better than Nico all day long. Shishkin could easily win with a change of gear at the end of the race but at the prices I'm in the...
Think Sam TD thought he had more underneath there. Would surely have been odds on in running, Tango Boy has been well backed last 2 times - There's a win in there for sure.
Tango Boy goes in the 1.35 at Worcester today although precious little cash behind it to recommend.
Without any sense of irony given my user name, I've had a large bet on Makka Pakka. One of the dodgy doctors coming down in trip.
His run at York looked like a horse who'd fallen out of love with the game (a bit of tail swishing if memory serves). Won't be the first or last and doesn't owe TB anything.
That said, me deserting the ship is a tip in itself given the run i'm on.
The horse that won last week Eunergumene certainly
Impressed the clock watches last week
"All in all, it is difficult to escape the conclusion that Energumene is a potential star – or perhaps even a star already – whether at this distance or shorter/longer"...
Lipsink in the 5.30 (not a TB horse) has some eye catching times in Frogland. Overpriced at 10s and doubled up with Flaming Spear against my better judgement
Not to be. Given TBs connections with Australia and thinking back to his efforts to get Withold into the race last year, I'm guessing that this is a race he'd really like to win. I'll keep em peeled for a potential Melbourne Cup horse under Tony's ownership.
Plenty of 33-1 about Stratum - named Stratum Albion for this - in the Melbourne Cup tomorrow morning (Flemington or Melbourne 04.00 if you are looking for it). This is THE race to win in Australia so is a massively tough ask but its not without a chance.
I get the official stance that hurdles runs don't count for jumps marks but MOL and bent Gordon are far too smart to have him bolt up before thier marks are announced especially when the handicapper can more or less do what he likes for the National.
I agree he's a freak. I was there for his...
Penhill always looks at his best on decent ground off a slow pace. There's a decent win - or decent run at least - in him possibly at Punchestown in April. I'm certainly not backing him slogging round Navan in this weather.
Now the handicap is out for the National be interesting to see how...
In fairness to Willy, he used to drink in a bar that me and my mates went to for Aintree that is sadly now closed and he was always up for a conversation. He even tipped up one of his bumper horses to my mate who'd had his car nicked. It won by half the track being strangled when we saw it on...
Love the Mullins interview beforehand discounting him. He's such a dodgy **** you could probably make a living backing or laying the opposite of whatever comes out of his gob.
UTA.
Kansas city chief in Welsh National tomorrow - or 2.50 Chepstow - hosed up once in Donny. Wonder if this has been the plot all along or I'm reading too much into it? Either way small stakes at 25s with Raz De Maree as the other.
