I read the Eddie Hearn has stated the July test wasn’t revealed as it’s not his obligation, it’s BBBC. But a few weeks ago he blamed them for leaking the September test
It has been stated by Benn, the misconduct charge is a separate issue to the negative drugs test. Aside from taking female fertility drugs…what else has he been up to?
It doesn’t raise a question; this is well documented. If any athlete is caught using any prohibited substance they will most likely be banned. That said, athletes can apply for a therapeutic use exemption, if there’s a genuine medical need though. Without a TUE in place then they’re in bother.
I think he also had some financial issues as well. A lot of pressure for one person to carry and carry in the public eye. Eubank as his eccentricities have always amused me and he’s always come across as a decent person.
What I do not understand is why the result came back in early September yet it was kept under wraps until it was recently leaked. When would it have become public had it not been leaked? How many other positive results have not been published to the wider public and/or the authorities?
There’s plenty more recent examples though. What’s different about Benn’s failing which will engender “ far reaching ramifications for the sport. ” when no others seemingly have?
They might not officially recognize it, but surely if evidence, any evidence for that matter, comes to light that one of their boxers has been cheating they must have grounds to act. If for example I went to the BBBC with concrete evidence of steroids, but didn’t have an incriminating test...
Eddie Hearn isnt coming out of this looking very good. He's been very vocal in the past when opponents fail tests e.g. the bloke who Andy Ruiz replaced and also someone recently regarding a contractal obligation to sign up to WADA. Different story here; seems to be trying to bend the rules to...
