Wouldn't you support the idea of discouraging cars from the city centre if it made it easier for tradesmen to park? Or discouraged single occupant Amex employees from driving in to work?
I thought it had helped congestion. It certainly seems that way. It takes longer to get round the round-a-bout, thereby all entrances on the system have longer to get on. Before, it was quite common for one entrance to dominate Seven Dials.
You don't have to stop regularly, there are not a lot of obstacles and you are less likely to encounter pedestrians, animals, children, tourists? Just a thought.
I did have another paragraph in there about allowing tradesmen, delivery, sending the taxis round the back of the station (cleaning up the front of the station so it is not cluttered with taxis, bringing back tuk tuks, more shared spaces (like New Road) and not a blanket ban across the whole...
A Facebook group just popped up on my timeline, full of people ready to vote out the Greens because they want to drive everywhere they want and to park cheaply. Ultimately a magnet for morons.
