shenanigan (n.) Look up shenanigan at Dictionary.com
1855, of uncertain origin. Earliest records of it are in San Francisco and Sacramento, California, U.S. Suggestions include Spanish chanada, a shortened form of charranada "trick, deceit;" or, less likely, German Schenigelei, peddler's argot...
If Stoke made a genuine bid, I could understand his frustration. Not sure he would have made their first team. Not sure we could have stood in his way either?
Not me. On balance the agent on behalf of his client could have mentioned he possible pitfalls to such a move. But he might have done, we have know way of knowing.
The whole gist and idea of the open letter seems very good to me. Credit where is is due.

Congrats to Andy Naylor for putting the alternative view (alternative to an agent's view).
Close this thread now. Unless you have anything useful and a new view.
I think foreign agents work with the assumption that the Premier League is where it is at and work on the very short term: the position could look very different of Burnley are bottom and Brighton are in the top two at Christmas? With relegation clauses, promotion bonuses, regular starts or in...
It could mean Burnley had not tapped him up enough (via the agent) with details of the deal? Or vice-versa: they had and it was better than expected.
Has he got a new agent ?
If I was a player, I would like to be able to speak with a potential employer. I think this is only possible if a...
As I said in an earlier thread, if Dale Stephens genuinely wanted to go to Burnley, I would have let him go.
The problems as far a fans were concerned is that
1) we did not know this as he did not say anything publicly (unlike Sissoko) until he made the transfer request (might have been an...
I agree. Who is the harder to replace? 15% chance of goal from Dale Stephens, excluding he one that Hemed claimed.
Over the last 50 years at the Albion only Brian Horton 15% chance of a goal, but these included lots of penalties matched him for goal ratio to games played. There was one other...
CRAP! Stats don't back up your assertions. Goal threat from midfield in career history is Stephens 15%, Sidwell 14% Norwood 7% and Kayal less than that (can't remember might be 7%). cf. Bridcutt 1.3%.
Apart from the goals, the physical presence, abrasion, and set pieces in midfield needed...

It puts us in a dilemma, who to score goals from midfield, who to have the...
I wonder how much Hull or Burnley are offering as wages for Dale Stephens? And what conditions attached. I would want to know that before handing in a transfer request.
My sense of fair play is that we could not stand in the way of Ulloa to have the last chance of a crack at the Premier League because of his age an at the time and good luck to him.
For Dunk, he is much younger and probably needs another season before he was ready for the Premier League.
For...
Burnley fans think they are signing Hendrick and Dale Stephens tomorrow.
I do not think all the Premier League club contracts are that enticing, not if they've got a relegation clause in them.
I think Dale Stephens is our most valuable player and he probably knows it.
