I'd suggest himself and his agent are nowhere near tying a deal up, hence he remains in situ. But I can't see his agent missing out on a slice of a transfer fee!
I see your point but his agent strikes me as someone who wants the best financial deal for both himself and his player. I find his agent profoundly unprofessional with his constant quotes turning up in the press. Negotiation via national media (be it Dutch, British or Iranian) is pretty shabby...
I believe he'll sign for someone; there is no way his agent will miss out on a slice of a transfer fee! The issue is where? At some point we'll move for another target but there is still a month and a half left of the window. If his agent has had no luck touting him elsewhere, I think they'll...
The agent is playing a dangerous game if no one else comes in for him. We have met his valuation with his club which is positive. If a player has a chance of joining a pre-season training camp, one would hope they'd take it. Alireza's one of the two signings this week? Hopefully.
The more a players agent tries to put pressure on clubs by leaking stuff to the media - the less likely we are to sign that player. I think this one may be dead, It seems the agent is looking for a transfer around August rather than any time soon. Plenty of time to increase his cut and the deal.
We have developed a fantastic record of getting players in to the Premier League. Like it or hate it, that has to be attractive for players coming here. Let's face it, the players we want to sign should have Premier League ambitions so there is nothing wrong with being a stepping stone club for now.
