[Albion] Gus Poyet on Sky Sports News

I've pretty much forgiven Gus. In retrospect, we played some great football under his reign considering the budget constraints he had at the time. He turned some average footballers into very good players.

    [Albion] Positives from Forest game.

Lots, not least good game management to see out and protect the result with a rare clean sheet. Veltman had an excellent game, we look more solid with him in the side, Baleba deserved MOM, Fergie put in a real good shift and Tariq Lamptey and Lallana were brilliant when they came on.
  3. BUTTERBALL

    [Albion] Carlos Baleba

People have to get over this comparison with Caicedo, he's a completely different type of player, more offensive and offers different qualities. He was fantastic today and fully deserved MOM.

    [Albion] Romas in ground atmosphere

I thought they were louder than Marseille - was a cracking atmosphere.

[Drinking] The official Rome Aperol Spritz (and possibly Negroni) thread!!

Looking forward to getting out there tomorrow evening!

    [Brighton] Downs Hotel Woodingdean

Been in a couple of times since the refurb and it's a decent place to drink, friendly staff and locals from what I've seen.

[Albion] How are you getting to Rome?

Vueling from Gatwick 9.05 Weds, stopover in Barcelona, arrive 18:00 Rome. Back to Gatwick same route Fri, leave Rome 21.30, stopover Barcelona back 8.30 a.m. Not ideal but not too bad price wise and best I could do as Wizz and Easyjet both crashed at the checkout.

[Albion] Are you going to Rome? + ticket allocation / purchase discussion!

Got flight and hotel booked. Expect to be in tier 2 and hope to get a ticket 🙏🏻
  11. BUTTERBALL

[Albion] Simon Adingra - 20 year old Ivory Coast forward - Signed 24/06/2022

Before he went away, I thought he'd gone off the boil a bit. The AFCON win has rejuvinated him, he was sensational today.
  12. BUTTERBALL

[Albion] For all those at Selhurst in 2003

Wanted the full 5 to completely avenge it, alas it wasn't to be, I felt we took out foot off the gas a bit second half.
  13. BUTTERBALL

[Albion] How much were you bricking it in the closing stages?

I think the first Spurs goal went in after I made a remark about a first league clean sheet this season :dunce:
  14. BUTTERBALL

    [Albion] The “Light show”

Bin it and bring back Gully's Girls! 😁 Also bin 'Freed from Desire' after every win, was fine the first couple of times but boring old hat now.
  15. BUTTERBALL

    [Albion] Joao Pedro Brazilian Maestro

Literally STOLEN for £30m from Watford. Was outstanding tonight and his work rate was off the scale.
  16. BUTTERBALL

    [Albion] "I'm back!"

And not before time. Big mistake to rush him back in Amsterdam, a huge boost for us.
  17. BUTTERBALL

[Albion] Facundo Buonanotte - SIGNED for 1.8 billion pesos

Still got huge potential, fantastic with the ball in tight areas as we saw several times tonight. When he can do it for 90 mins, he will be some player.
  18. BUTTERBALL

    [Albion] James Milner

As long as he's not playing in defence, he's a huge asset. Best performance for us tonight, absolutely superb.
  19. BUTTERBALL

[Albion] Facundo Buonanotte - SIGNED for 1.8 billion pesos

People forget he was brilliant against Manchester City last season when we drew 1-1. Finally realising his potential.
