I actually watched a couple of games when my mate played there and Sanders was a great player but Molumby was class, then i went and watched the U21 play off final the day we played Liverpool away in our first season in PL and Sanders had become captain and completely dominated the midfield...
Unfortunately my mate was released soon after that game but he played as the other CB next to BW and said that he put him to shame and that he was by far the best talent in that age group of the academy at the time. Sounds like your mate probably knew a lot more than most of us though.
My mate played for the academy when Ben White had his first trial game for us after being released from Southampton. He told me that he was a ball playing CB from that game, (I think he was 16/17). Bielsa did not make him this player. He also told me that Ben White had interest from the City's...
I don't want us to start signing top championship players though, would much rather someone who's played the prem, knows what it's about and has stayed up before, maybe one or two from the championship but I don't fancy a load of them?
As it's only a one game ban, I think they are appealing because if we aren't successful and he gets another game, it will be the Lincoln game, and he wouldn't be playing in that anyway!
if we were going to spend big, I think our PERFECT signing would be Abel Hernandez, I think he's a class player and proven in the championship and also some in the prem, but I know how far off I am.
Too right, just thought he'd be the perfect player for us, done it before (twice), will score you goals and will understand that he wont play all the time, similar to Keane imo, think we've maybe missed out there unless we sign someone with similar attributes and history.
Johnson isn't hughtons sort of player at all, lidbetter is a good shout but I just think cairney is his kind of player and would fit straight in our squad?
