When I first moved to Sussex an estate agent suggested a house in America Lane ('close to the lovely village of Lindfield' apparently).....I parked up, only to have a stone thrown at the car from a group of feral-looking kids. Didn't even bother going in. The area used to have a bit of a reputation but not sure if this is still the case. Cant's Lane is generally alright imo - plenty of new houses been built just off it too.

(I like him still)The Wilmington way flats have all been knocked down and redeveloped. Not sure if that's showing on Google maps yet, but it wasn't recently and still looked like a shithole! It's certainly improved.
