You would think they would have learned their lesson - back in 2016-17 they finished top of the Premier Division of the Southern Combination Football League, but were denied promotion to the Isthmian when it was found they had played Melford Simpson in numerous matches when he was serving a "sine die" ban with the London FA over an unpaid fine at Fisher.
What can happen is a player turns out for a Sunday casual team with his mates, gets booked, and the fine is not paid. The player may be used to the club sorting it out. Next thing “sine die” and banned from all football.

Congratulations @Dick Knights Mumm and all at Steyning.

Crap result for the Crows last night but even the players knew you weren't going to slip up against Uckfield so knew the title was gone.

However all to play for in the play offs and the way it is structured means finishing second is a huge bonus as it will mean certainly one home game and win that then the final will be at home.

We've got Midhurst (hopefully....it's the SIXTH time we've tried to play the fixture) on Saturday and then Shoreham on the last day.

Heard they are about to get a 27 point deduction and have been kicked out of the cup. Player in question didn’t have international clearance and has played many games. Good source but haven’t seen any confirmation anywhere yet.
Shame they didn't win the league by Christmas then like one of their fans announced they would do in our club house.....after we'd beaten them earlier in the season.

Karma is a bitch eh!

Lewes v (play-off chasing) Horsham tonight.
Went along after seeing this post. First time I've been to the Dripping Pan in 25 years. What a fantastic place it is to watch football now.

Blimey, really!? Shame, they've looked a decent side the last few months, and the player in question is quality.

My pal and I have thought that should the Albion leave us (we thought it would be something like Adebayor rocking up on £250K per week) we'd go to Lewes. Easy transport, great pubs, great atmosphere. I like the ethos of the place.

Cheers. Yep - having Uckfield at home as the last game should be a banker. As I have said before - it's been a great season for us both and Newhaven. The Playoffs will be nerve-racking .........

Yeah I agree. In the unlikely event Bloom sold out to an Arab State or something, I've always said I'd go and watch non-league football instead, and Lewes definitely seems to be the best option.

I gave up my Albion season ticket a couple of years ago and I don’t regret it. I share my Saturdays at 3pm (unlike at the Amex) between Lewes and Whitehawk with the odd Worthing game thrown in. I recommend non league football to anyone.
Agree - but it is possible to do - and to enjoy both Non League and The Albion....

Just a mention for Lil old Horsham YMCA who, (somehow!), have reached the Final of this season's RUR Cup, to be played at Lancing this coming Saturday evening 20th April, kick-off at 7.45pm.

The oppostion are Haywards Heath Town, the best supported team in the SCFL. So if anyone would like to come along, wave a black and white flag and support us underdogs, then that would be very welcome!

Which is precisely wahat l do, the Albion come first, l have a season ticket in the West Lower, and on no Albion home days, l am involved at Horsham YMCA.

With Saturday 3pm kick-offs almost becoming a rarity in the Premier League, games involving my two clubs don't clash too often, so it's win win really.

Do you have to dress up as a cowboy, construction worker, etc?

Ha ha ….. “lil” Horsham YMCA indeed. Best of British on Saturday.

Funny how your match against HH goes ahead and the Peter Bentley semi final can’t.

Presumably the same player wasn't cup tied in the Peter Bentley cup?

I can't see how they can't get kicked out of the RUR cup after fielding an ineligible player in it, but the rumoured 27 point deduction sounds incredibly harsh!

Well according to @dazzer6666 earlier on this thread it had nothing to do with being cup tied but international clearance so one would assume if they are going to get kicked out of one cup they should get kicked out of all cups assuming said player has played in them. But then its Sussex FA so who knows.

Likewise- have a Burgess Hill season ticket. Obviously a few Saturday clashes but midweek games are normally on a Tuesday so get to a fair few of them.

International clearance!? Is that a thing in non-league football?
