In a pile of football shirts
I have the Centenary shirt and the away shirt (AC Milan colours) from the 2000-01 season. From memory, I think we won the League Two championship in these shirts. But l haven't worn these shirts for 15 years (if not longer).

Looking at these shirts they're actually quite ugly, with the Centenary shirt being very shiny, and I just don't like the look of the away shirt in real life. This thread has provided some inspiration, I might look into selling them both.

EDIT: Just saw the club shop are selling the centenary shirt for 35 quid. Probably not worth the effort of selling in that case.

It seems some retro Albion shirts are widely available online and not as uncommon as I would have thought:

Those are retro remakes, not the original. The real things sell for upwards of £50 these days.

They don’t unfortunately. Recently sold some on eBay and fees were still charged.
EBay regularly does ‘80% off selling fees’, so I look out for those and only list then.

What size is the centenary one? Good condition?

Last month. Don’t know what category they went under. My nephew did it all for me as he eBay’s quite a bit and I never have.
Ok. So does anyone actually know if the fee changes announced last week affect football shirts sales?

I just asked nephew who sold them for me. They were categorised under

Sports Memorabilia > Football Shirts > English Clubs

I don’t often wear football shirts but bought some in the past and had some given to me as presents , don’t own any Nike shirts. Got 2 player worn shirts from Withdean days and a signed one.
This thread has got me thinking about selling some, I use eBay but never sold on there.

I have got this one but very much doubt this seller will get this price

I've got one of those Palookaville ones in the wardrobe somewhere, adult size and in good nick. Only thing is, its got "Easy 10" on the back, so is probably worth about £1.50 :lolol:
Bloomin' loved my Palookaville shirt. Soooo stretchy. Seemed to actually grow with wear, so much so that it gradually transformed from a short sleeve into a long sleeve over the course of the season. Sadly - schoolboy error - bunged it into launderette wash, after which the fabric sort of frayed such that it looked like I had developed some sort of severe skin-flaking condition or the worst ever recorded case of dandruff. People were visibly edging away from me in the Brewery Tap. Sadly at that point the shirt had to be consigned to The Dustbin Of History, as well as to the actual dustbin

I have one too which I would be willing to part with, XL shirt with XL shorts, never been worn to the best of my knowledge.

I just grabbed it from upstairs and took these photos:

Phil, ignoring the crazy asking price for a moment, is this logo original or is it perhaps significant to the asking price?

Mine doesn't have it despite being bought from the club shop:

Thanks for any insight.

I've got a Palookaville one which is probably my favourite, and a Centenery one...but I like them even thought I don't wear them much at all, so langushing in my cupboard they will stay...

I’ve got a Lewis Dunk match worn black away shirt in pretty much perfect condition from our promotion season to the Premier League, I’ve always wondered about value just out of curiosity but obviously it’s not for sale.

My sister acquired a Peter Ward shirt (with his name on the label) back in the late 70s and she wore it as a night sleeper a few times. Much later it was donated to the BHA museum. I really wanted that shirt but she wouldn't let me have it. I would have treated it with far more respect.

I’ve just checked mine, I have three of them, and none have that patch on them, can’t think I’ve seen it before. Could be an early or late version, we did use that kit for quite a while.

Now I want it 😄

While Superphil's here, and without wanting to hijack the thread, a good few years ago I bought a Spurs 1985-87 season home shirt in a charity shop for a few quid, no sponsor on it, Hummel. A few months back I tried giving it to a Gooner mate as a joke to clean his car but he wasn't interested so I held onto it. Looking online a few are listed for £300, surely that's not an accurate valuation...
I'd still wash my car with it . . . .two of my neighbours are spuds 😂

That might also be fake. Albion shirts from that era are very rare, unless it's local, I just don't trust these ebay kit companies there are loads of them that will sell good fakes in with real shirts. If Brighton fans are selling these tops it might be a good idea to post a thread on here because there are some of us that would pay a bit extra knowing it's a legit Brighton shirt, because it's getting harder to tell.

I have one of the white one off Palace away shirts, the Mcshane match, not with the score on as it was one of the few extras produced which was surplus to the number they needed for the players. Its also signed by most of the team.

Thanks for the info, looks real from the photos compared to mine which I know is definitely legit as it came from the club shop in Queens Road
