We don't. A late friend of mine had two very nicely located season tickets, for himself and his daughter. When he died she made enquiries (through a third party) about transferring his ST to another family member but was told it couldn't be done. So she had the options of giving up both tickets and going to the back of the queue, giving up his ticket and finding a stranger occupying his seat, or just not telling the club and keeping his bank account and mobile phone alive. You'll have to guess which one she chose.
It is actually a tricky conundrum, isn't it?
You have every sympathy with your friend's daughter in that situation and can fully understand why she'd feel the need to take that course of action - but then on the other hand you had the ridiculous situation at Liverpool, with all their 120 year old season ticket holders, blocking the waiting list.
I cant dispute that, but most "old" grounds tended to be in run down areas of the town, I'm thinking Maine Road in Moss side, as a prime example. New grounds tend to be built out of town, or in areas undergoing regeneration. I never went to the Goldstone so no idea what that part of town was like, but the Amex would seem to fit the out of town identikit model. Not saying that as a criticism, just passing commentIm not sure about all this willy waving on how far away the stadium is or isn't, but what I do know is that Selhurst and the surrounding area is a total s**t hole.

This fellas sister has been using the dead Dads ST for the last 6 months, because this bloke couldn’t find the time to cancel.
She’s been going to away games using the old boys points therefore denying another fan who may have more of a case for away tickets, I.e using points that he has legitimately gained.
If the old fella was an Oap she was also paying OAP prices for 6 months rather than the full whack.
Palace also don’t sell out their away northern games, plenty of chance for her to gain her own points.
If she waits till the season after next, she’ll be able to sit where she wants, cos after their relegation, they will go back to having a maximum of 15,000 home supporters going to games, anyway.

Could be perfect for them. All 15,000 could sit in the super duper new stand for a few seasons while the rest of the ground is bulldozed to build something decent.

You'd have thought they'd give serious consideration to another site before building on the existing one with very limited capacity issues? There's no long term plan though, is there?
London property market being what it is there aren’t really any other sites available unless they move south of Croydon.

I found it all a bit of an odd complaint.
I would be surprised if any clubs allow season tickets and loyalty points to be inherited.
As i understand it the fan was using his dad's season ticket and loyalty points for others, until the season ticket renewal.
Presumably the father was also an OAP who would have had a concession, which was being used for a number of games.
Lucky not to get a ban to be honest
Maybe the Ultras should post to social media demanding the club renew the season ticket seeing as they enjoy doing that sort of thing.

Derby, Leicester, Darlington, Stains, Boro, Sunderland (except for one stand) all went down the boring road you describe. Straight lines, total construction/land costs at a £1,000 or less per seat.
Whilst the stunning Amex with its curves, multiple decks and plush lounges cost 4x that. Plus it keeps getting better and better.

I guess one thing in their favour is the transport infrastructure in this densely populated area, and they were looking at Crystal Palace park at one point, I believe?

According to the comments the season ticket was a full adult price but discounted for early bird renewal. It appears they are allowing the ticket to be transferred but treating this woman as a new customer, so no discount and no loyalty points.
I really can’t see anything other than a massive level of entitlement from the family here and their main complaint appears to be that the bloke won’t be able to get two away tickets anymore cause the season ticket is being transferred to a new customer.

Ha! So now I'm having visions of the New Stand being in the middle of a huge Sainsburys complex, no pitch, just a big shop and car park.
The dirty thirty are rattling about in the middle, singing the woo woo song, and the megadrone on the megaphone is directing shoppers how to park.
Meanwhile, palace are ground sharing with Horsham.
They could look all they like but that would never have happened. (Bit like me looking for a date with Scarlett Johanson.)
