I sussed my chippy 4 large cod bites for £1 each = 1 medium cod which is £7 and I prefer the cod bites.
£ 3 seems to be the going rate now

Sadly chippies seem to be rapidly passing into history. For what are typically small family run businesses their costs are rising exponentially while their traditional customer base increasingly baulks at the steeply rising prices. Hard to see how they turn that state of affairs around anytime soon

spurs mate of mine recently returned to sussex with his wife and 2 daughters , he had fish and chips at the beach , 2 cups of tea and 2 cups of coffee ....88 quid....!! that is a bloody joke and he is notoriously tight , never gets a round in , i've known him must be 10 years , iv'e never known him buy anyone a pint he really is that tight , he said he almost cried when the bloke in the shop handed him the bill....i could just imagine his lip quivering in disbelief , thats half a weeks shopping for a family off four over here ...!!

I'm not buying it out of principle.
(I agree, after 13 years on this forum I find the threads derailed by the same fish puns every 2-4 weeks tedious and boring. I guess it's what makes people happy though)
