PBOBE on RDZ. Not a hint of the hierarchy and this season being destroyed by Roberto.

That’s fine. Just long as he also accepts that a large part of the reason we are currently 9th lies squarely at his door.

Bottom half budget, we sold our two brilliant CM’ers, we lost a huge number of PL goals (Mac, Enciso, Solly, Mitoma). I know not playing Verbruggen is one of your many criticisms, I agree now that he should be no.1, but Steele got us into Europe and his distribution in a passing based team was key to our many successes.

Then that question again …. why did no one say on NSC say that Potter was better between the Chelsea 4-1 and Sept 23?

The very things that everyone loves about Roberto are also the very things that some people are now against. Of course he’s passionate, he’s outspoken, he wears his heart on his sleeve, he’s demanding, he’s ambitious and most importantly he loves his team. He is still our man and long may that continue despite the mixed messages that seem to be emanating from who knows where.

Suicide 3 at the back vs Luton; two down in 3 minutes. Repeated at Fulham soon after and lost 0-3. Away at Spurs, 1-1 deep into added time and every outfield player ahead of the ball in Spurs half; lost 2-1. Insane keeper rotation policy that he belated now seems to accept isn’t optimum.

Agree with you on your points re budget etc but we’ve left plenty of points on the pitch this season that have nothing to do with personnel but more to do with systems and tactics.

I thought the display in Athens was sh1t btw, luck and inept finishing prevented a big loss.

I wanted RDZ to be slightly more defensive from the beginning. But that’s just my long held opinion on how teams should set. Dunk and Webster at the halfway line or beyond in open play, little insurance policy held back when we have an attacking set piece …. not my choice. But my caution would’ve likely tipped the balance so that we didn’t tear Spurs apart at least twice, beat Manure, draw with Citeh, win at Arsenal.

It’s RDZ’s entire football ethos, it brings a lot of success for a bottom half budget club, but also disappointment when it goes belly up. I feel he’ll succeed at a big budget club, it’ll be interesting if we spend a bit this summer in the very obvious weak positions and RDZ hangs around.

Players lose you games, not tactics. There's so much crap talked about tactics by people who barely know how to win at dominoes.

I've never before or since seen a team trotting out to start a home game for Brighton scared shitless to go anywhere near the ball, and certainly showing every possible bit of body language that they didn't want to be there. Clough's 'work'.
Best thing he ever did for the Albion was buggering off.
