[Albion] Has the tide turned on RDZ

He had 12 shots because he’s a selfish player. How many of those shots would any player be expected to score from? Any player can have a load of shots but if they are all high wide and handsome what is the point (and yes I don’t like Salah)

Whilst you might have a point that Salah isn't the biggest team player going, he has playing for Liverpool for 7 years and yesterday was the game he got the most shots off in. I appreciate it'll be a minority view but I thought we were better in the 6-1 away at Villa. We were carved open numerous times and rescued by Liverpool having the jitters in front of goal. To satisfy my curiosity, I looked both of these up.

That Villa game was like the Everton one last season, every shot ended up in the back of the net including the crucial 3rd goal where the ref decided GBH on March was not a foul just before they scored. Steele (?) didn’t save a thing and the defenders were crap on the day. Yesterday we played in exactly the right way and RDZ appears to have changed his gung ho mentality for the game and the defence had a really good game.

I know which game I think we played better in!,

I hate XG, it’s nerdland to me

I largely have a 'what will be, will be' attitude to players and coaches leaving us. I'm used to them going eventually - either they do well and are picked off, or do badly and we ship them out.

So the sleep time vision I had for me was just confusing - your own perspective on De Zerbi will dictate whether it was a dream, a nightmare or a bit of both...

Satruday night I dreamt the club announced on Sunday morning that De Zerbi had been released, and to take his place they brought in John McGinn. Yes. Aston Villa player John McGinn.

While I am a what will be, will be person, I do admit to being pleased that didn't come true.

We dominated the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half, pulled one back were unlucky not to get a 2nd then Watkins run up the other end and scored. Game over. On another day, 2 of their goals are chalked off and it's a different game.

Whilst I prefer Verbruggen to Steele (and he made a brilliant save at the end), he also made a howler yesterday which he got away with because Diaz was a multimeter off side. A quick glance at the player ratings and he gets 7s and 8s "outstanding" If that is Steele or it goes in what rating do you reckon he gets? All because of 6 inches or so. I often think it's mad how opinions are formed due to goals or the player performing the action.

Good player to be fair would be massive for us. Innovative solution. Better him than Jesse March or Howe

It’s hardly a rallying call to the fans that he’s here to stay is it?!:

De Zerbi said: “I don’t know but it is not a problem. The club are more important than the coaches.

“No, it can be Roberto as a coach, next season another or next season Roberto again.

“But it is important the team, the club, the players, the way of the club.

“If it is Roberto or another coach, nothing changes.”

Chatting with another Albion fan the other day we were discussing Roberto. He reckoned that RDZ would stay despite many on here interpreting RDZ’s comments to the contrary. This view was based on the relationship between Paul Barber and Roberto which I believe is excellent. With Barber intending to stay until 2030 and some of the £124m +/- profit being made available for possibly(?) strengthening the squad may be the incentive for DeZerbi to remain in situ.

Personally, I hope he does stay. The last 18 months have seen an extraordinary and unbelievably exciting period in Albion‘s history. This, in the main, has been achieved by Roberto. Long may it continue.

It depends on what support he gets in the summer. He'll expect some of the profits to be spent on improving the squad to his liking. If we manage to qualify for conference league or more (tough ask) he will want to stay but, again, will want backing more than last windows. I think Bloom will match Roberto's ambitions with a big signing or 2 as well as keeping our big stars ie Mitoma and Pedro.

If we don't make 4 or 5 ready to play player purchases THIS summer, given;

1. Our very healthy FFP position.
2. Many clubs need to sell to avoid points deductions
3. The clear need to strengthen in some key areas
4. Roberto wants to see TB's ambition

Then we never will. This is THE window to invest

" to his liking " ? Let's hope we stick to Tony's algorithm as RDZ's liking yielded Dahoud and Fati!

Bizarrely I think their injuries this season will ensure Mitoma and Pedro remain.

I go back to what he said in presser about a month (or more) ago, when he said he was looking forward to leading a team with March and Mitouma in it again.

I don’t think he wants to be judged by his performance this season, and wants another crack at it with here with a fitter squad.

Of course this would mean cutting out the Friday afternoon game of British bulldog they seem to have every week that decimates half the squad.

"To his liking" meaning that he is happy with said signings not, Roberto's say so signings lol. Yes, stick with the algorithms and NOT the likes of Dahoud and Fati which haven't worked well!
