[Albion] Has the tide turned on RDZ

I’m totally relaxed about the whole situation.

RDZ’s decision will be driven by the ambition of the club, that to me suggests he very much would like to be here next season but wants the resources for us to push on.

If TB and PB believe the clubs ambitions are not the same as RDZ’s and they see the club progressing in a different way, then that also sits well with me.

I was gutted when Potter left and thought we would struggle to replace him, I was wrong. I’m happy to proved wrong again should RDZ decide to also move on.

No individual is bigger than the club and I’d back TB all day long.

If the visions align then boy are we in for an exciting 12 months ahead.

I was angry and gutted when Potter went with the kitchen sink. Then we saw TB beaming at the RDZ press conference. As a result I think I’ll always trust the entire strategy when it comes to Albion managers. A new manager would bring different tactics, perhaps we’d defend better, there’s always a silver lining.

The tide has turned yes and not likely to turn back before we part company but nothing wrong about our performance today. Allowed them chances but more because of leggy defenders than poor tactics. Amicable end to the weekend but we have 7 rough weks ahead of us imho

Really enjoyed the footie we've played, but slightly worried about the goals we concede, defensively we've regressed.

in my humble opinion, goals scored have not outweighed our defensive frailties.

Fully aware of how far we've come, was at Goldstone for Storer's goal, so no sense of entitlement, but he seems to question board all the time , we are always going to e up and down with our recruitment, but low sell high, does RDZ want more than that, i.e superstars and wages appropriate now? Can we afford that long term?

Happy to take flak but get he impression without heavy investment he is disinterested, long term can we support hat, maybe next season when prices are consrticted but will that be enough?

Should we do everything we can to keep him? Yes

But has the tide turned? Sadly, I think yes. I fully expect him to leave this Summer, but even if he doesn’t, it is the beginning of the end. But Blooms’s project was to make us competitive in the top 10 of the Premier League. If that succeeds then sometimes we will finish 10th, and sometimes we will finish 6th. Maybe even 4th one day when the stars align. If there is a Brighton ‘fan’ that doesn’t buy into that, then I suggest they go and attach themself to the ‘Brighton Kop’ at the King and Queen (or wherever it is now). You may find what you are looking for there.

Personally, whatever our issues are at the moment, I just can’t put a large amount of the blame with RDZ given the insane situation we’ve had with injuries. He’s constantly having to put out teams that are nowhere near the quality we should have, and benches full of youth. Every time it starts to get better, someone else then has a problem. Today for example, we’re missing Mitoma, March, Pedro, gilmour, hinshelwood, Enciso, & Milner. All of those could be in the starting 11. It feels a bit like because this has been going on all season we’ve become a bit numb to it and have forgotten what a set back that is. Every team would struggle the moment you take 7 players away who would normally be starting, or at least a bench option, and for us it’s been like this ALL season. It limits us so much, and limits what RDZ can do mid game with subs & changing tactics.

We all began the slow inexorable slide towards death the second we were born.

It doesn't have to end this summer, though.

Bloom’s ‘project’ was to have no ‘ceiling’ but at least qualify for Europe when De Zerbi joined us - we were already some way to being a top 10 competitor under GP.

I don’t buy into if RDZ stays ‘its the beginning of the end’ - I think if RDZ stays it is a sure sign that the project has changed/progressed and we are chasing regular European football and are not going to settle for being a mid-table club. It will be a sure sign that PB/TB think RDZ is the manager with the vision, passion and ambition to help us get there.

I read his post to mean that it is the beginning of the end for RDZ at Brighton. Hence my silly-arse comment about us all starting to die the second we are born. But I may have misunderstood. :ohmy:

If ever there was a game where the result influences the comments it's today. Salah had 12 shots today the most he has ever had against any team ever in the Premier league. He could have had a double hat trick. Liverpool were miles better but a bit nervy which caused the ending to be closer than it should of been.

Liverpool are a quality side and there is no shame about not getting a result. Let's be honest though, we haven't tightened up we got lucky that Salah didn't have his shooting boots on today.
