A real shame for Lewis that these 2 games have gone against him. Being selfish, much better for us that he gets a good rest this summer anyway. It’s looked like he’s needed one sometimes this season. Shame Southgate didn’t use him a few years back when he was clearly better than some of the players he turned to instead.

Even if Dunk does make the squad, the best he can hope for is a run out in a dead rubber group game. If your name's not Pickford, Walker, Trippier, Shaw, Maguire, Stones, Henderson, Rice, Bellingham, Phillips, Foden, Saka, Kane or Rashford, you ain't getting a look in for a game that matters.

Have any of England's back five had a good night? Konza at a push but mainly because he has kept well away from the ball

Or is it just a higher level? Mistakes unmercifully punished against decent international teams.

Dunk’s never had pace and like most PL CB’s has mistakes just like that or giving away unnecessary pens.

But for us against most PL opponents, LD is the glue that holds us together, great distribution and he repairs the damage from others such as where Webster dives in.

Dunk got Brazil and Belgium. Whilst Mings lucked out often with Malta, Scotland, Wales, Kazakstan, Iceland, Bulgaria, Romania, Andorra.
Three of Dunk’s five England caps have come against Australia, USA and Scotland in fairness. I don’t think he can complain about the standard of opposition. And these are poor Brazil and Belgium teams by their standards.

It's all swings and roundabouts though, players dip in and out of form. Dunky isn't at his best at the moment, whereas Gomez has been flying for Liverpool recently. Yet, only 6 months ago he was on an abysmal run of form.

England have looked fairly decent going forward in the second half, but have overplayed it somewhat. I think the only thing I've taken from this match is that Doku is a hell of a player.

Gomez and Chilwell have also been shite. Pickford as well, obviously. Dunk's been better in possession than Konsa at least, and would have an assist to his name if Bowen was more aware of his positioning.

Bowen and Mainoo have done pretty well, can't say anyone else has performed to a decent standard. But obviously people will just pile in on Dunk.
