I think England could really do with Ben White, he's the sort of defender that might have bailed Dunk out of the shit. It's a diisaster that someone as intelligent and versatile as White is not up for selection, we cannot afford for him not to be in the squad. Konsa and Gomez are not in his class.
Whilst I do agree, Gomez has been in brilliant form from what I’ve seen this year and is arguably England’s most talented defender. It’s a real shame what’s happened to him with injuries over the past few seasons.

Rice doesn’t trust Dunk.
Southgate does apparently - he‘s made schoolboy errors in the last few games but so have others ( Pickford’s has also just cost a goal) - Dunkie is still a class defender who’s experience and height makes him a useful addition imo - can’t see him being out of the squad yet.

(Maybe has not done enough to start in the Euros though)

We've got a Serie A winner and CL regular barely picked

I agree with you on White, but he's not giving Tomori any chances

For xxxx sake. You would really think he learned his lesson.

This is harsh but he’s not good enough for England on current form. He simply has too many mistakes on him which at this level will be punished .
Sadly, I agree.

He looks very unsure of himself on the ball. Worried that we’ve seen it a little too much in recent months.

Let's not scratch around to somehow get Dunk off the hook. That's really poor and just so deja vu :(
I'm not absolving Dunk of anything, his initial flap gave Lukaku the crossing opportunity. Tielemans should have been picked up though.

When Southgate had a look at him a few years ago he surmised that Dunk's lack of pace was too much of a risk at international level.

That hasn't changed and that is the reason behind that mistake for the goal tonight. Anyone else would have made the ball in plenty of time to not have to go to ground.

Sadly I think that will be it for Dunk now, sadly the slip will be blamed and the defending at the back post was clearly not contributory to their goal

Would not be surprised to see Branthwaite on for the second half.

Englands loss for our gain, sadly for him I fear

I'm sure that going into a completely different formation is hard after the very precise coaching of RDZ (as we saw with Caicedo), but if that's the end of Lewis's England 'career' he can still be trusted to come back as the Albion's GOAT and take us to the end of what is likely to be our greatest ever season
And on that cheerful note - I’ll leave the Dunkie pile on thread and just watch the match I think 😂

Which games out of interest ?
The own goal was Scotland. The goal where he vacated the middle to mark his own man for the cutback was, I think, Hungary, where he got a 2.26 rating on the BBC website. I ecall him passing the ball straight to the opposition when trying to play out of defence leading to goals on at least 2 occasions. Couldn't tell you the specific matches though.
