Brighton factually.....
What time would/will people be catching the train from Brighton to avoid potential trouble. I’m travelling down from London and fear entering some mass brawl on arrival at 18:45!
Oh, that is prime time for barrier and the mat throwing competition, good luck with that one...

They were not 'special', but they were from a state-owned bus company - and thus they could be mandated to provide the required service.

The suggestion being made for today, is that none of the privately owned bus or coach companies here are prepared to provide the necessary coaches for the Roma fans, and thus laying on such a service is not possible.
So is the suggestion that it is the bus company and not the authorities that have made the decision to let the Roma supporters travel on public transport.
Ridiculous, I'd make the buggers walk.

The first game at the Amex, against Marseille, the stewards wanted to examine my walking stick. I said this hadn't happened previously, but was told it was a UEFA requirement. Luckily I wasn't asked to take my shoes off as well, or I would've needed a chair to sit down to get them back on again.

Realistically, unless someone leaves before 83 minutes, they’ll still be in the train queue at Falmer thirty minutes after the final whistle.
If we are still three or four (or more) goals down on 80 mins reckon a lot will leave. If we are one down guess most will stay to end. Not keen on extra time and penalties for 8pm kickoff.

Are you for real....

Imagine that, it would be one of the most historic nights ever for this club and your not keen on that prospect.

I am taking the daughter and don't care what time we get home if that situation arrived, I would be immensely proud even in a penalty defeat to claw back the position we are in now, give your head a wobble.

It isn't the job of any specific coach company to HAVE to take this booking. So each individual company has not 'made the decision that they should get public transport'. Each individual company has simply chosen not to take the booking. What happens next, once no coaches have been found to be available, is the decision of the authorities.

Sympathise with that I would need a shoehorn as well

Can totally understand the coach companies position but it has forced the hands of the authorities to put them onto public transport.
So glad I go via Lewes, Brighton Station is going to be busy.

Re “the bus company”

Hopefully no one using this term is referring to our own Brighton & Hove Buses?

It’s a total non starter as at that time of day NO buses will be sitting idle. It’ll be a push to accommodate the park n ride, so if they “had to” move the Roma fans, that’s where the buses would be redeployed from.
