I found a solution by buying one of those cards that are blank inside, enabling me to craft my own bespoke message.

And to save killing further trees I also put "Happy Easter and Merry Christmas" in the card too. It's never too early, is it?
Ah, but we can always do more to help the environment - Next time, write the card out in pencil, then use an eraser and re-gift the same card for every member of the family from year to year for every occasion. A real one-card solution.🙂

You could just say 'I'm saving the environment, so I didn't buy you a card'. That would be a brave (foolish) thing to do though.

Why - we have members from different parts the world on NSC - Mother’s Day in the States and in Australia for example is celebrated on the second Sunday in May.

(I was just being cosmopolitan )
Yes I just think most would’ve got it was in the UK though - just tickled me pal

I didn't. I thought it was next week. It's normally the Sunday after my birthday.

@Sheebo was referring to the fact I included (UK) after Mother’s Day in the OP. Redundant info probably!

Well this is strange - the X Mother’s Day photo I posted earlier of Princess Kate and her Children has be removed from news agencies like Reuters and AP due to ‘suspicions that it is a manipulated image’ 😳

Deleted my post but couldn’t see anything wrong with the image personally.

Me too to start with. I was delighted when Man City was postponed. Then I checked a calendar…..

As I said, I missed the game yesterday. Mrs GB works hard all year and has to put up with me. My mum’s in London and is happy with a FaceTime. Taking a day off football to do a long video call and then making a nice dinner with my daughter isn’t really a hardship.

Especially as I’ve banked some brownie points for when I want to make a weekend of Newcastle. :moo:

"The first issue that I noticed was the weirdness around Charlotte's left wrist — a portion of her sleeve strangely disappears," Witty said.
"Another glaring problem is with the zipper on Kate's jacket. It's as if that area was sloppily pasted and misaligned," he added.
He also said there were "over a dozen areas around Kate's head that are unnatural," suggesting that "they took the expression from one image and pasted it on top of this one."
Some of the latter could be attributed to smartphone camera settings, Witty said.
"A lot of the issues with this photo could have been caused by Portrait mode or perhaps the Best Take mode on the Google Pixel 8," Witty said.

This is the thread that mentioned the photo, so I'll post this here because it tickled me:

My Mum past away just over a year ago and I miss her so much. Much of my focus for me was on her on Mothers day, that I would forget that I am a Mum as well :) but I did recieve a lovley box of chocolates and a card telling me how awsome I am, but not to let it go to my head from my daughter. Very happy with that.

I had commitments in Warwick so could not get to see my mum in Devon but I managed to get a text read out on Sunday breakfast on 5live which she didn’t hear but some of her mates did and sent her a message.

Anyone hear the bit about a mum who joined a golf club at 40. Was Devon champion by 43 and playing off 3. Still single figures now in her 70s? That was me about my mum. Yeah I am proud.

What utterly bewilders me is why anyone actually cares. First headline on the BBC. Seriously ?
