Forest were almost as shithouse as Villa.

BV is our No1.
Fati is a waste of a shirt.
Moder played well.
3 points, clean sheet and a confidence bounce we desparately needed, but we were painful to watch, so negative, Potterball with a whiff of CH at times.

Gross was masterful in injury time, so funny.

quickest I've ever got out of the car park!
I disagree with painful to watch we needed to adopt these tactics to get wins with the injuries to our top players.
Do agree with Bart I’ve been saying it for long enough.

That’s not what I said tbf - I said it was an extreme unlikelihood but that is not why I think we should play to win.

I agree re risks but every match we play is risk adverse - I think it would be really bad form to treat us playing the Europa as if it were a 4th round Carabao cup tie whether we have a chance of going through or not. I have a suspicion RDZ will want to field the best players we have available too - he will be keen to show De Rossi Brighton at its best.

After Roma, we don’t have another match until 31st March - 3 weeks is plenty of time to regroup and deal with minor scrapes and bumps.
Gotta go for it under rhe lights. Nothing to lose. And he won't want to get minced again by his mate.

Oh, I'm happy if we beat them 1 - 0, but I don't for one second think we're winning 5 - 0. That said, I'd rather we regroup, don't take too many risks, avoid anymore injuries and attempt to be be back in Europe next year, via our League position.
I understand your viewpoint, but I feel that prudence is called for, on this occasion.
We have a 2 and a half week after Thursday match To have a nice rest , before the next league match

Disagree sorry 🤗. The next match should be our focus because it is the second leg of our first European competition ever.

I want our best team out there to play at 100% not 80% to see how far we are off the level. I want our best team out there because despite the extreme unlikelihood of us getting through, it is still a European cup competition. I want our best team out there because RDZ and the lads would get a lot of confidence from beating a big club like Roma. I want our best team out there because it is owed to all the fans who bought advance tickets and maybe travelling miles to attend. I want our best 11 out there to show pride and respect to our visitors that even though we are all but beaten we are a team that will die with our boots on.

Really? I think I'd rather send Glenn Murray and the tea lady out on Thursday - thats how much it means to me. I don't want to get tonked again, but we aint going to beat Roma based on todays little kickabout. Would rather everyone stay fit and well for Liverpool.

If I was a forward playing in this team I would bring a garden chair, rug and flask of tea as we are so obsessed with f***ing about between the defence and midfield, there is literally no point in me being there!

yes three points, but I honestly felt that was 90 + minutes of my life I won’t get back!

no wonder people are upset with fati and fergie! Poor sods make runs and midfield just turn back to dunk, then goalie.

Murray? We can do better than that, a front 3 of Murray, Zamora and Ward. RDZ can come out of retirement too.

By all means go for the win - hell, I want that, too - but not a gung-ho, blood and guts performance that has the potential to weaken our already weakened squad further.
That’s not what I said - I said I think we should field our best team not subject them to a bloodbath.

Roma don’t play like an aggressive EPL side like eg. Southampton or bullyish Newcastle side. They played better link up football, a faster game and were clinical in front of goal. I think we can put up a great performance (greater than we did on Thursday) without it being a high risk game.

(Besides, I’m not travelling 400 miles on Thursday and paying £75 quid to watch a bunch of teenagers from the U21s or the retirement class of 2025 (although Lallana was excellent today!) kick the ball around for fun 😜)

If those without tickets or those who have STs can’t be arsed, some of us who have purchased tickets especially to see us play a European cup game would like to see a match thank you very much.

Tbh, I'd save yourself the bother. I think we'll go for the long game, rather than chase rainbows.
It's not ideal, but it's pragmatic.
Of course, I'd love us to beat them (although it won't be by enough to progress), but personally, I'd rather we concentrate on the League, now.
Horses for courses, and all that.

Revenge is a dish best served ice cold! The six points taken from Forest this season will probably consign them to relgation. Apt revenge for them robbing us in December 1978 of a quarter final place in the league cup. We outplayed them, had a goal disallowed and clear penalties not awarded. The score was 3 - 1 but we were robbed. Pretty certain Wardy got our goal.

Question: If fifth place eventually delivers a Champions League spot this season does that mean the seventh placed team will qualify for the Europa League?...Eighth place Conference League, maybe.

Really?

So all those fans who have bought Europa tickets for our second leg should just put them up for resale? Or throw away money?

Not really the actions of genuine fans is it?

I hope the lads and coaching team (TB too) do a circuit afterwards to give us all a chance to applaud them on a great campaign in Europe and for all the special memories.

I though fergie played well today. Put himself about. Fati made one single decent run that wasn't spotted by Dunk then strolled round with his hands on his hips, constantly let runners go, and got easily muscled off the ball every time he vaguely got anywhere near it.

You're really making too much of this.

Spot on PO!! The number of times we had the ball nearly up near the box and it ends up back with the keeper just seems stupid now. We actually face our own keeper more than we do theirs...

We've been spoilt the last few years, and now we're having a tough patch, players sold, players injured etc . . .so its not as easy on the eye. . . It's good to see the players do the right thing to get us over the line . . . . I'm not convinced that was an RDZ tactic.

Forest were doing their best Villa impression.
