Absolutely crazy if this is the case... not sure what channels exist , maybe @Bozza, Fans Advisory Board or an email to Paul Barber. I can't see how it should be too difficult , I would expect the numbers to be small so manageable by a simple list if a 'process' does not exist.
I get why they don't offer refunds as then a lot of people would buy tickets straight away on the off chance they could go and then get a full refund when they can't go, it makes people commit so they don't give a load back on mass weeks before a game, which will be hard to shift. Annoying but I get why.

Just bumping this one... I have 3 x tickets for Liverpool away (1 adult and 2 u18s) that I can now no longer get to. Just contacted support services who said there was no resale/refund process for away games.

For a sold out game this seems crazy! Anyone had any experience/tips as to how to make these available to other fans??

I can see it being tricky when physical tickets printed by the away club have been issued / names written on etc... but with digital tickets there is no real excuse, is there?

Limit it to once a season per fan number?

yeah it's mad, and so far out from the actual match as well when they will sell within seconds of going on the ticket site.

Is my only option passing them on to someone in the hope that they don't get drawn out of the hat for ID checks?

I had a ticket for Arsenal away and then realised 10/12 days before the game that I couldn’t go. Was told in no uncertain terms that I couldn’t return the ticket and no refund available. I wasn’t actually worried about a refund - although that would have been nice. I just didn’t want my seat to be empty. After a brief email exchange I just gave in. And this was for an e-ticket that hadn’t even been sent.

I then came across this (too late for me) when looking at how loyalty points are calculated. The but in question is at the bottom of the pdf re loyalty points - and this is for this season so is current.

Maybe worth trying again and quoting this to them.

I was in the same position when I couldn't go to Spurs, and that only came to light a few days before the game, and that was a digital ticket.

Worse, I knew of someone who was high Tier 1 who didn't buy a ticket, as they didn't think they could go, but then could.

But nothing could be done, the ticket went unused and there was an empty seat in the away end.

It is utterly ridiculous.

‘Provided’…….imagine there are technical and/or admin ballache issues that usually make reassigning tickets a pain so it doesn’t get done (including digital - whether the home club are prepared to issue a new QR code and have the capability to cancel the original for example)

I did this exact thing a couple of seasons ago. A medical issue meant I couldn’t go to two away games I had already received paper tickets for. I was told that as long as I could return them by the Friday before each game and they could resell, they would refund me.

They put the ticket back up for sale - I saw it go live - and then it sold. Possibly whoever bought the ticket had to pick a duplicate up at ground, something we have all done for various reasons.

And … I received a refund. So it can be done and if it can’t, why do they say they can on the pdf?

My point was it’s a qualified ‘can’……they can’t cover every set of circumstances in a generic note, and always are in the hands of the home club anyway

I agree, but at the moment they just seem to be saying a categoric ‘no’ whatever the circumstances.

….but we don’t know the circumstances
Well ‘I’ know my circumstances. I mentioned above that I had situation with Arsenal away this season. Advised club loads of time before game and before e-ticket had been sent. The response was a clear “we do not accept returns or make refunds in any circumstances”. This contradicts the club statement in this seasons pdf.

In fairness, my circumstances probably aren't that extreme... simply a change of plans

But the point remains it seems strange that for a highly sought after, sold out away game, nearly a month away, I can't return three tickets...

This is true theres no reason the club can't put it back into the pool. I think despite some people thinking everyone was gaming the system, a lot of the passing tickets on came from this (at least in my experience) that for some reason someone couldn't make it, would often pass it on, often free of charge in my experience.

I've had the same happen to me. Can't remember which game.

I contacted the club and told them I was unable to attend as I didn't want a black mark going against my name. I even told them that I wasn't seeking a refund I just wanted someone to have a ticket.

Computer says no.

Seems mad.
