Bart and Rushworth as the first team goalkeepers next season, Steele maybe as 3rd choice but I doubt he'd want that role. No other manager would keep Steele in the team so if RDZ leaves it would be the end of him.

I like Steele and Verbruggen, we’ve got two good goalkeepers. Steele made a howler last night but all keepers do, he also did some things very well last night.
What I really don’t like is the rotation. No one does or has ever done it for good reason. I really don’t know who it’s helping at the moment. I know RDZ is generally beyond criticism on here so the players get it in the neck instead but there is no logical positive reason for persisting with it.

Well quite. Against Wolves, we had 72% possession, 18 shots and just 2 on target. Against Everton, we had 65% possession, 23 shots and only 7 on target (of which 3 were soft headers from corners straight into Pickford's gloves).
It means that when we do concede freak goals, make mistakes or simply let one in, we're taking 40+ shots to get 1 goal. That's not a recipe for winning football matches.

I', not saying I agree with him but I can only assume that RDZ thinks it is best to have two decent keepers ever-prepared via rotation than rely on one or the other, then stand little chance in the first game following an injury to the first choice keeper (because the reserve is rusty).
Alternatively RDZ has an agenda with the club, and he is playing silly buggers with the keepers as part of this agenda. I don't know what the agenda is, but I'm sure @dwayne will be along in a minute to explain it all.

You mean shots. But you're completely right.
But i'd rather be watching my team camping in the other box and failing to score sometimes than offering nothing but 5 across the back and 20 something % possession

Bit of a blunder last night by Steele, but he is a good goalkeeper and every keeper has mistakes on them, it is a team effort and the chance should have been snuffed out earlier. Webster was not terrible last night, I think folks are frustrated with so much possession in the game and a negative result and are looking for easy scapegoats and sadly these two team players for the Albion are it, when we should be be looking at the collective for the lack of bite.

But with a heavy heart, I agree with the majority saying that it’s time to give Verbruggen the rest of the season. Bart will make similar mistakes. But football logic dictates that we’ve bought in a young keeper, with international aspirations, on big money, on a long contract. Steele I think was always one big cock up away from being dropped. I think that was it.
I predict goalkeeping rotation is now over.
- The bravery and consistency of his short and medium range passing puts him as possibly the best in world football.
- He makes good decisions about whether to fly out of his box
- Some of the goals he’s let in which people claim he should have saved, really weren’t ever going to be saved. And some of the suggestions I’ve read on here about this are nonsensical
- He’s incredibly reliable. Last night was probably the first genuine goalkeeping error leading to a goal which indisputably goes against Steele in his years at the club
- He’s clearly a terrific pro. Waited for all those years then came in and carried out his managers instructions perfectly.

I do feel sorry for Jason - the mistake was an awful ricket, one of the worst howlers you'll see, and it ultimately cost us the match. No getting away from that, but keepers make mistakes, that happens, you move on. it is what it is as a wise man often said. But the miss at the end, that will live with him forever, what an opportunity to be the hero, to get redemption, to do something that I bet he does in training all week, but keepers almost never get the chance to do in real life, and slam the ball into the back of the net. He should have taken his gloves off!

Steele had been on the wrong side of all of our heaviest defeats under the current regime. This is elite level football one goal keeping error can cost you the game as it did last night. It’ stays 0-0 Wolves have to play football and we have a different game on our hands.

I remember when England selected either Ray Clemence or Peter Shilton in goal. Both equally good and equally competitive. Which I assume is why De Zerbi rotates Verbruggen and Steele. Firstly, to keep them on their toes and be competitive as well, secondly, so they both experience first team football on a regular basis should they be called on at short notice.
I’m quite sure RDZ will take on board the comments about his selection and tactics not working, and it being to our detriment. No doubt he will be asking you to join his coaching team and value your input
It's true...but which of our strikers would have calmly stroked that snap half chance into the net.... I'm not so sure. Shame he missed it, but I don't blame him at all.
I feel the same. Maybe those blaming him alone had their eyes shut, or they have just seen Steele as an easy target, I expect more quality of football knowledge on this forum.

My lad was a goalkeeper for a couple of years U8’s U9’s but just couldn’t cope in the end. If I’d realised the pressure I would’ve tried to steer him in another direction. (He’s mtb mad now so all’s well)
Goalkeeper errors like Steele’s last night are massive because they affect the scoreboard. Every single outfield player who shoots at goal and misses by 5feet wide or 10 feet over the bar is making a bigger mistake than Jason did last night in my opinion - but those mistakes don’t affect the scoreboard. Every season there are hundreds of shocking shocking errors up front …. there will even be the occasional mis hit shot that goes off for a throw in!!

Conceding is fine, we will always give away 'higher' quality chances because defensively we're giving the other team more space and we have less people back but mistakes in the first minutes of a game change the whole outlook of the game substantially. It means the other team can protect and camp back which we struggle against

Yes, early mistakes mean teams will play the low block to hold on to their lead.
If we are going to be an effective attacking team we will need to work out a way to combat this.
I am confident that we will eventually be able to put in more consistent attacking performances... Fielding a full and consistent team will be key to this.
He's a nice guy but he's a trash goalie at this level. And a millionaire to boot so I'm sure he sleeps ok at night and unworried about an internet troll.
