£120 for a Europa League official match-ball is the real shock. Crikey.
A match quality adidas Tango cost £40 from Swift Sports in 1986 (I remember this because I used to stare at them longingly through the window after swimming). That's £115 adjusted for inflation.

You had to pay £75 for them to blow it up for you?

I bought a pair of Nike Dunks a few months ago - a nice grey and blue colour that work with any casual outfit. Imagine my anger when I discovered that the same trainers are availanle in dozens of different colour combos that I'm now forced to buy. Nike and our esteemed captain should hang their heads in shame.

No, not at all, I enjoy threads about food, politics, music, plumbing, travel, snow, Brexit, Wordle, bottle tops, Trump and general Tomfoolery, can't stand football threads to be honest.

You say this in jest, but it does GENUINELY trouble me, that there are styles of adidas Stan Smiths, Sambas and Gazelles that I don't possess.

with the launch of the latest training kit "refresh kit" that is 7 different training kits/midlayers the club have had just THIS season (and we are only half the way through it !!!!

Nike and the club (for allowing it) are taking the pi$$ imo and at the same time, turning our stands into a multicoloured Rod Jane & Freddy shambles

What's the point of changing the training kit design every few weeks? Seems a huge waste of time and money?

All the players and coaches need several sets, all the stock of the old stuff gets thrown out and how many people actually buy a new set of training kit we every time it's released? By the time you've bought the top, shorts, leggings etc.. it's going to be £150 a pop.

Can't see any reason for it.

I did notice that sex offender ‘Stephen Bear’ was released from prison yesterday wearing a unbadged version of that new training top 😂

I have a feeling the fine denizens of NSC are not the target demographic for these training kit adverts.

Same reason they have boot "colourway packs" and change the PL ball 3 times a season. It reminds the public that Nike exists and Nike do things.

It's a marketing exercise.

I'm assuming the reason is that Nike have run out of the original training kit and have some of this new one lying around that they can whack a sponsor and badge on and sell

Might as well close NSC down then 🤣
No! World leaders have NSC book marked for ideas and solutions. Everyone surely knows this by now?

So fans who want to buy training kit have a choice of styles and coulours? So they can choose the ones they like?

The only training kit thing that genuinely annoyed me was the fact the women's pre-season training kit (which was great) took AGES to actually get released, and even then they didn't do any in the men's fit template. Producing stuff just for the women's team is brilliant, but let all fans buy it

As others have said, no one is making you buy it, there are bigger problems in the world to worry about.
The club or Nike are not taking the piss, they are simply trying to maximise profit that can be funnelled back into the playing side of the club, be it youth, women's or first team.
Because the club or Nike would never take the piss!
And how about ‘funnelling’ the profits back to the Vietnamese and Philippine kids working 12 hour shifts for 10 cents an hour in slum conditions to keep the club shop stocked with that pointless First World shite so some sad middle-aged wanker (probably called Easy10 or similar) can ‘proudly’ wear it to the match while others chortle behind his back?

I fully accept the age-old 'my kid wants ALL the new kits, and its not fair on parents to change the shirts every season' argument.

But, TRAINING KIT?

Nah - they can train in as many different outfits as they like - and if anyone wants to buy it, or not buy it, is entirely up to them. Total non story.
I kind of get where the OP is coming from actually, playing kit, training kit, teeshirts, hoodies, pyjamas, kids will demand EVERYTHING with the seagull motif on it, especially if they see their heroes wearing it.

The mere fact that their parents can't afford to buy it will mean nothing to them.
