Why is the East Upper more expensive than the equivalent seat in the West Upper?
Because the east upper is the equivalent level as the 1901 in the west not the west upper. When the stadium was built we were informed that the 1901 seats are at the perfect angle to watch football.

I must admit, I had no idea my season ticket was nearly £700, and will now be over £700. I'm not sure what I'd have guessed at, but something closer to £500, I think.

It illustrates how the direct debit payment option makes a season ticket viable for many - I'm not sure I'd be shelling out over £1,000 for me and my son as a lump sum if that was the only payment method.
Agreed. Its an underappreciated part of the ST package. Other clubs in the PL either don't offer this, offer admin fees, make you sign up with third party finance companies, make you pay interest etc.

Yes, but looking at it another way we will have paid 5/12ths of the ST price before the season starts.

Ha ! Maybe it should be like Council Tax where you pay over 10 months not 12. As @Bozza says , for many of us, the idea of a lump sum payment for most but not all (my Dad always used to do that for his ticket when he had one) is a no-no so i much prefer it this way.

My eldest lad (15) and some of his mates want to move from zone F to the north, leaving me and his younger brother in the east. I was considering it but not now, unless he stumps up the £160 difference in price himself!!!

Finding myself rather jealous of my dad in the over 65s band! More seriously, have to agree with the comments about Direct Debit. Does make the whole thing feel far more paletable.

Is there a window where we can shift seats?
Thought it would be a good idea to have front row on lower west so the kids could see and wave at the subs warming up.However, it's an awful view when they are warming up (or stood watching the game when they "should be" warming up,plus when there is a cameraman around the corner flag,it gets frustrating craning necks to see the action on the pitch.
10 rows back would be perfect
