I think they need massive luck with that (going FT)they are going in the opposite direction to Worthing that could possibly be a league below L2

I've heard the team that's more central in town Eastbourn town FC gets only 100-odd fans but makes about 10X more noise than the Boro side. Back in the day Eatbourne was seen as a hotbed of talent anyone remember Old Town Boys with the manager who looked like the professor out of Back to the Future who was very strict, the team was like army-trained and they destroyed most teams that played them. It seems like a waste of a big town that never really got it's act together regarding a proper team.

Ugh Oh. A certain transient manager local to Eastbourne who's had more clubs than a pro golfer and recently sacked by another NLS club a few weeks back, will no doubt have his radar twitching for that job.
He has form for spending a 'Kings' ransom and leaving a trail of chaos at his previous clubs. If EB employ him they're surely doomed.

Just seen that Pete Cherry passed away last year. I must have been to over a hundred Langney Sports games when he was manager and bought over 1,000 pints from him when he was pub landlord.

Hope they don't go down! When a club tries a big revamp it often can come a cropper, see also Crawley last season. If they tough it out this season and stay up, they will be in a good position to start realising some of their new owners' ambitions, good luck to them

Scored a hat trick against me in a local 5 a side league in a team made up of Steve Dell, Nigel Hole and other Sports players. As far away from professional as you can get, allowing them to play elsewhere midweek.Mick Green

He was. The sacking pissed a lot of people off at the club at the time.
It's a mess what's going on there now and some of the players just don't care.

You think they would care as now their players are professionals.
I can't knock the new owners ambition but I have a feeling this could all end badly. I think perhaps he's overestimating the pull of Borough in a town where it's other teams are entrenched and established. Eastbourne Town or United fans wont be changing their allegiance any time soon. In addition, other local fans may be like myself and be hardcore Albion fans for many years or they may travel and support one of the London clubs. Despite living 10 mins from the Priory Lane ground I just don't really have the passion for local football as I'm not really invested in the result.

Understandable. One of the main issues that came with going professional was almost a complete squad overhaul. They lost a lot of good players with a tight knit squad which they brought in players who they thought would compete at a higher level. They didn't and whilst there has been some injuries, it just hasn't been good enough. A lot of the players are mercenary.
Spot on about the other points. I said this about Crawley too but the rise of the Albion and the new stadium came at absolutely the wrong time. Attendances have increased, but there are a few reasons such as kids go free etc.
