Obviously not the same level but Brighton fans were banned after the Euros for being involved in fighting not so long ago. https://www.theargus.co.uk/news/14607789.sussex-hooligans-banned-following-violence-at-euro-2016/
My boy was a referee until a year ago for under-16 leagues in the Sussex area. What started out as a fun way to get a bit of extra money turned sour, and he would regularly come back from games in tears because of the abuse he got from managers and parents who were 'protecting their players'...
Yep. Word of warning though, the train back to New Street takes forever and the queues are massive. I gave up with the trains and ended up getting an Uber back last time I went
Went to the Green Man before the game which was good (if a little wet and muddy). Getting into Wembley was quick (not sure why they bothered with the staggered entry times) but the bars seemed a bit hit-and-miss in terms of how quickly the staff were serving people.
I was in the 'safe standing'...
The irony of all this is that I've heard stories of a few people who are on the naughty ban list that have managed to get tickets by being guests of season ticket holders
Ah, that's exactly how they found out. I've heard of people getting bans from Twitter because they've used their real name...
The other way that just occurred to me (you can tell I'm avoiding doing my actual job here!) is that the person who bought the ticket is someone from the club looking out for people exchanging tickets.
Unless when OP contacted the club they flagged his account as a potential wrong 'un and watched to see where his ticket ended up before hitting the ban button.
