It may well be a better deal if you don't care about ( particularly financial ) services.

Do Norway have a massive financial services sector ?

On the other hand our financial services would benefit mightily from a Norway deal.

Can we swap deals with Norway ?

Our economy is about 6-7 times bigger than Norway's and our economies are very different, they have alot of natural resources. Not quite sure how Norway could ask for a similar deal

At the end of the day our deal is inferior to membership and Norway could easliy join the EU, they don't have a good deal because it's better to be members. That's the whole point

I've kept out of this toxic thread for sometime as I got bored of the insults and 'I know better then you' attitudes but your children can still do all these things - they just have some extra processes to go through to achieve them. For example, I've been looking at getting a property in France for sometime now and have been discussing with a French estate agent. I can still buy the property I've had my eye on ( I probably won't but for non-Brexit reasons ) - I just have some extra paperwork to complete should I proceed. Likewise, Miss WS is looking at a Uni course that includes the 3rd year abroad and the Uni have assured us that she can still do that year in an EU based uni.

There is a very big difference between being able to make special arrangements to buy a house or go on a university course or have a time-limited break in an overseas country and the legal right, with few exceptions, to study, work, reside, retire and be cared for across 27 other European countries whilst being treated, to most intents and purposes, as a full citizen of the country in question. I am surprised you draw a parallel.

Feel a bit sorry for Westdene, who clearly does not understand what Brexit is, now it is done. The rest, well, they just seem happy that remainers are not rather than joy at any new found freedoms or opportunities. What a bunch.
Clearly this deal is going to be changed, added to, amended over the coming years, bringing us ever closer to the EU, and it looks like we will be seeing our Parliament having to vote to accept new EU law equivalence every time the EU brings something else in, or face some form of sanctions.
These pricks will be aching for the good old days of being a member and having a veto before long.

But this sums it up completely. If Westdene, who is undoubtedly one of the most lucid Brexit supporters on here, can't get his head around what Brexit has done to his long held plans to retire in France, what chance do JCFG/POTG (whichever he's going to be today), Pasta, Chicken Run, Mouldy, Ppf etc have of understanding any aspect
