To be fair, Southampton are decent this season, apart from Everton, we've pretty much matched the opposition, Today Southampton totally outplayed us. It happens, it doesn't mean we have to sack the manager.

Thing is, we have 10 points. Our record in 2020 calendar year is absolutely shocking.

I'm not advocating sacking GP, but for all the plaudits we often get in the media, for all those great performances, for all those stats that show how many shots we've had, how many we've conceded against us... For all that, we have absolutely nothing to show for it and yet another dog fight looks a real possibility.

It's bloody infuriating.

That 2nd half performance was poor. It wasn't a penalty IMO, but a stupid challenge from March who really should be learning this stuff by now.

For me, not enough urgency and not enough desire in 2nd half. That's a big worry.

There is a weakness when after scoring we think that the job is done. We played pub football after we scored... Completely forgot what we are about. Trying to play like Spurs. Dreadful.

Good comparison, we haven’t the players to play the crafty counter attack game to win 2-0 or 3-0. Sitting back with no impetus, after scoring, kills us.

Decent first half, not amazing but not terrible second. Came out on the wrong side of the fine margins. Decent opponents today. Soton easily a top half side this year.

And with pretty well the same players who have been unwatchably mediocre in the very recent past. That should give some hope to one or two of our chaps.

Webster is continually caught in possession or hurried into giving the ball away. Just not good enough on the ball.

Yeh, time to bite the bullet on him and drop him.

Southampton's pressing made him look very uncomfortable

White should be your middle centre back coming out with the ball and starting attacks. He is only average in midfield. Brighton play too slow, only show urgency when go behind.

You have enough decent centre backs to try and win games and then shut up shop later in the match. At the moment it doesn't look like you can score more than a goal which means you then drop back and invite the opposition on but there is never a counter attacking option so fairly easy for the opposition to push more players on.

Entitled to expect Brighton players to fight as hard as the opposition.

Entitled to expect our manager to react to the game going against us and making a change.

Ben White not a midfielder clearly...needs to be in his strongest position central defender.

Ben has a passing range and accuracy from CM...then play him there.

LD would do better in midfield...or at least change it up and find out?

Matt Ryan...nice if he even dived the correct way for once on a pen. And too short to save the header [emoji2357]

Do I believe a different manager could get more from the current players...yes because they may see that Ben should be in the back...even at the expense of one of the other three.

I’m not sure why anyone would complain about the Saints penalty. Absolutely nailed on for me, as soon as VAR were taking a look I knew it was a penalty and that Ryan would go the wrong way

By the law of averages he has to go the right way one day

If that's a nailed on penalty then there is no hope for this game. Contact was at least 2 foot outside the box, the player then dives into the box. Never, ever a penalty. Carragher has just confirmed as such.

Maybe when he is playing in the Chinese league. I think he would still have trouble saving one playing 5 a side

Didn't deserve to lose, but certainly didn't deserve to win either. Whenever White and Bissouma are playing DM together, we never look like winning. We can't expect Lamptey to be our saviour every game. I don't want to be un-Christian towards Webster, so all I'll say is that White should be replacing him at CB next game and let's have Alzate back in the midfield please. Maupay got in great spaces but was not at the races once he had the ball. Players left their shooting boots at home yet again.

Can you be apathetic and annoyed at the same time?
