As for sacking Potter - Can't sack him. Still clear of the Relegation Zone and there are about 4 worse teams so staying up shouldn't be a problem. So I think he has to stay.

That said - Watching from the position I am in. I saw the same tide of opinion turn on CH gradually the way it seems to be turning on here and it will grow until results starts to turn in his favour. It is not nice to witness because I think Potter is doing a decent job with the standard of player he has at his disposal. I just think the Fans Expectations have been raised and when that Genie is out of the bottle it is difficult to get it back in.

The good thing about the up and coming games is that he has the International break coming up and the team often seems to have an upturn in results when there is a bit of a break in proceedings. So that may happen again after the International Break and if it does then he has enough good grace in the bank with the fans to weather this due to the attacking style of play which a lot of fans like.

Make no mistake though. Results are what will keep him in the job and not pretty football. So as soon as he picks up points again all this talk of sacking will be abated.

And ultimately TB won’t be influenced by a minority of fans who partake in a fans forum.

It’s been said that Albion 0-5 Bmuff and Albion 0-2 Cardiff were the seminal moments for TB in deciding that TB had to go.

Staying in the EPL is everything for the Directors, even more so now with EFL clubs receiving next to no income.

If anyone is to blame it is Maupay. His conversion rate is mediocre, he's had a bust-up with the coach, he takes too many touches.

Maupay had a goal a game to start the first four games of the season. Since then he had the ball passed to him by Lallana when anyone with a reasonable grasp of the game knew Lallana should have shot against WBA, was then dropped for a reason that none of us know before being restored today and clearly not giving much of a shite. So much for emotional intelligence.

However, our best chances today were blown by Welbeck and Lamptey.

We are over elaborate in both boxes and that is the coach's fault. End of.

Surely this is a coaching issue, which is totally his responsibility as head coach?

Maupay and Welbeck are experienced campaigners, can managers really influence their finishing in the heat of an EPL match against quality goalies and defenders?

Agree, we can’t sack him. Too early, and who do we replace with too? That said, I’m pleased more people are getting concerned at last. What took them so long! Blinded by the pretty passing offering no doubt, style over substance. Tonight’s result is really confirmation for me that we’re in for yet another long depressing battle to finish top of the bottom four or so again.

I think there is quality lacking right through the spine of the team, and that he is getting back he best out of players at his disposal.
Its the eternal cash conundrum, and I'm only glad its not my headache ( or chequebook) to square that circle.

The fact that he felt he needed to drop him suggests Maupay is not the most receptive of pupils. Word is he is a hothead. Potter is clearly an astute manager because the team consistently impress, work hard, have the majority of possession and create chances, but he has striker issues.

I think there is an argument for bringing in a new specialist coach - even as a short-term appointment - to see if they can unlock something in him. There is a gap in terms of a mentor now Murray has gone and maybe he needs someone experienced to guide him. A month of working with someone like David Ginola could do wonders for Maupay's game.

If we get relegated (and we will if we don’t start taking our chances), Potter should have a season in the Championship, if he can’t get us up first time, then it’d be time to say goodbye.
