Because if you are landing troops in the Middle East you can’t provide air over from the U.K. simplies.

Cant really see a scenario where British troops would be landing in the middle east unless under the behest of the USA...they have plenty.

Yeah but you need to have some control over air cover. You are well a truly ****ed if you are reliant on a third party.

Granted. They are the kings of blue on blue. Alternatively, we can just not go when the USA wants to for whatever reason they might come up with.

But you can see a scenario where British troops would be landing in The Falklands, didn’t see the USA when I was there?

How many people in the mob did you meet who didnt love their country, I love my country, I dont like the crop of governments we have had over the last few years, who feel its ok to lie to the population for personal gain.

You’re behaving like a politician Dave, you ask a direct question, I gave you a direct answer that you clearly weren’t expecting so you ask another question [emoji23]

I'm rather surprised the government hasn't thought of outsourcing air cover to Capita or G4S.

In 91, 3p mess deck HMS Cardiff, issues were resolved with a Gladiator Run the gauntlet complete with the theme tune played out on the mess tape deck, anyone who knows type 42’s will know 3p mess houses circa 40 blokes including Marines looking to take you down [emoji23]

Some inspiring photos with HMS Queen Elizabeth II as the main subject .... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-54420134

Hopefully it will calm Dave's concerns of the UK having a lack of firepower

Quick question for the experts - on the F35's, what's the wheelie bin lid behind the cockpit for ? I ask as to me it would seem to prevent the aircraft from being as streamline as it could be.
