Scratching my head at this statement. Dortmund have never come close to winning the UEFA Youth League. I wonder if they meant the U19 Bundesliga. They are the current champions.

Not all of us. Some people understand how a club works and how players like Alzate get to be in the first team. Only a few will make it through the process but that doesn't make the process flawed. Much better than wasting money on players like Maguire and Wan Bissaka.

You seriously expect every u23 we sign to become a star for the first team? Get used to a lot of disappointment coming your way.

Yes, at every step up in age group for a young player, about 1 in 10 will make that step up. A club has to trawl through a thousand young players to find one which will play for the first team.

It's further complicated by the fact that some develop at different rates, so from time to time you'll get rid of someone who is going to be a star
