Of course but I think we all know that the transfer kitty and wage structure is not set by PB, it comes down directly from TB who has made this point after previous windows about how he sees the club being run.

OK, so scrub 'Barber out'. It has to be Bloom OUT!

I am not an insider. Like everyone else here, I rely on the media, but recognise it is sometimes BS.

Wilson, a player Chelsea wanted and played for England is a downgrade on Muzza. And you suggest I lack judgement!?

You are a mug if you are judging Muzza on one game.

You really are an idiot aren’t you! You didn’t even read my post - I said a downgrade on Maupay NOT Muzza so you complete misread and then go off on one!!!

And how on earth can you call me out for watching Muzza for one game?? I’ve watched virtually every game he’s played over the last 15 years (except the scum years obvs)
So I think I’m well qualified to spot a decline

Muzza was our backup. We loaned him out too early. One game and you are making a judgement. Not clever TBH.

Wilson is exactly what we need. May I remind you that Potter worked with big OMcB at Swansea. Oh, and Wilson has not played for Newcastle yet.

The fact that Potter is now touting Ali J, a player he hardly played last season, as a ‘striker’ just tells me how desperate things are with respect to our strike force. That said, I really hope Ali J (a player we tried and failed to offload) finally delivers.

Couldn't disagree more with your post.

Murray, rightly, would not have featured this season as he didn't really last season. He is simply not up to playing in the premier league anymore as other clubs know so him leaving makes no difference at all to our striker search.

And Wilson, at nearly 29, after 2 ACL injuries and 3 goals in 29 games is also not what we needed at all for the money he would have cost and with no resale value. People are praising Newcastle's business but I think him and Fraser are big mistakes.

Watkins I would have liked but definitely not at that money Villa are paying. I am happier where we are now than if we had signed Wilson or Watkins for that amount of money.

We clearly do want to sign a striker and I hope we do sign Brewster or another similarly promising striker but I would rather stick with what we have than waste money on one who won't actually improve us.

No, it would demonstrate stupidity. Like, loaning out your main backup striker. Or using all your budget on players playing positions we don’t need to strengthen urgently.

You have inside knowledge of our budget, nice. And we have used it all up?

Would paying over way the top for someone not very good show the sort of urgency you are seeking ???

I just think it's downright WEIRD that the club is happy to trade keepers and CBs all day long, ANYTHING except address the key issue that has thrown a long shadow over our entire EPL tenure. Won't even dignify it by stating the bleedin obvious

Yeah and we got rid of Andone very early, Murray only scored 1 goal, so effectively we only had Connolly and Maupay. As many have said and what Potter seems to be saying Ali J and Trossard need to step up. Or more importantly we need to use Ali J in the correct role.

As I have pointed out elsewhere, so many of you are freaking out that Murray has gone, yet the stats show Ali J was way more productive than him and yet people want us to flog him off.

And after we got rid of Andone and it became apparent that another PL season was a step too far for GM we were a bit light up front. Where would we have ended up if Maupay had got injured?

I'm certainly not freaking out that Murray has gone. He made some valuable contributions last year but it's time for new blood.

To all those demanding the club sign a striker no matter what the cost ........ how about you put your hand in your wallet and pay the £20million+ your demands require

very easy to spend someone else's money .... while the club is its supporters , the supporters in the end have little or no say on how things are done , Mr Bloom is the owner and financier of the club especially in these times of covid-19

yes its frustrating to sit by the computer/smart phone waiting for something to happen getting on a fans forum and ranting & raving wont change anything except your blood pressure

the club knows its budget , it knows its targets , if a target is within budget then I am sure they will make a move

I am not sure but I think many of you are falling victim to the mightiest troll on NSC just now. Surely no one believes the club isn't trying to sign a striker right now? Sure some of us can dream it might finally click for AJ, but that hope doesn't mean the club think we are fine as we are. Can you all just focus on rumours as this is much more entertaining for me? Thanks in advance.

We don't really DO strikers that we don't have to google tho eh? Sooner or later, and probably sooner rather than later, that failure in recruitment and financing is going to dump us on our sorry arses into the Championship. Shame. So easily avoided

Really baffles me how many think that firstly the club aren’t working hard to get a striker in and secondly that it’s just ‘easy’ to pick up a striker that scores goals at PL level.

Exactly, hardest position to fill hence the prices and salaries for this position. Other than Southampton last season, think every club in the bottom half will feel they need a striker or 2. A perennial need unless you land an Ings. So many do well at one club only to disappoint at another.

But getting dumped back in the championship isn't 'easily avoided' is it ?

It takes a lot of top people, working extremely hard, at the top of their game, backed by ridiculous amounts of money, and then it is still very hard to avoid :p

Last year we signed a striker who was the top scorer in the Championship , ended up being top scorer for us and well known to pretty much anyone, and our top scorer in the Prem is that unknown - Glenn Murray. So this isn’t true is it.

I'm more surprised by the amount of people falling for this schtick.

TSB & Spence would be so proud of this top quality WUM (assuming they aren't all one of the same)

In fairness he's played it well.

- Tap into something we all are a little anxious about.
- Purposefully misrepresent the clubs approach to all transfer activity.
- Attach value to a leaving legend, who has no value.
- Feed off all the past failings.

It's a work of genius, BW must be killing himself laughing at all the wet mattress' he's creating.

I :salute: you sir.

Appreciate your attempts at social media influencing as always. But judging OUR top scorers against OUR previous top scorers is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things tho eh? To state the bleeding obvious, the yardstick is the rest of the division
