I realise I am probably in the Albion minority but as an accountant I think the numbers sre important and a win today means our best season in the Prem.

We can equal our highest finish, most wins, fewest goals conceded whilst already recording fewest losses and most goals scored. I think it is also important to try and get 41 points and beat our 2017/18 total.

All of this matters because we'll be able to say Potter has done better than Hughton, Potterball will be truly vindicated and no pundit will be able to say despite our pretty football it was Hughton that still achieved the best outcome.

Would be good to hit the traditional "safe with 40 points" with a win, but I'll take a draw

I've just read the gossip on the beeb website and it made me chuckle. Not enough for me to start a separate thread, but apparently palllllace are going in for the ginger idiot!
Talk about a match made in heaven.
If it comes about, I really didn't think I could dislike them any more than I do.....

To some fans, and people interested in club history. But what does all that matter to the players? One thing matters to them - staying in the premier league (and perhaps somewhat cycically, the wages that come with it). And they've achieved that. Their reaction/post-match behaviour to beating Norwich shows they believed they had achieved it with that win. If the above mattered, we would have seen a better performance v Newcastle (and probably seen more than one decent half v Southampton).

When asked about Burnley in his press conference, Graham Potter offered praise and rejection of the usual criticisms of Dyche's style: https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...g-style-disrespectful-epl-table-a9637456.html

Compare that with the weak beer response that Dyche gave (8:10 to 8:50) when asked whether he thought Potter had done a good job: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAeYbjWMyQo

I wondered why Dyche didn't feel able to mutter a few platitudes instead of talking about management in general, perhaps his usual grinding feeling of resentment when he imagines that these media liked footballing type managers don't have it as tough as he does. 'Potter may not be foreign, but he certainly acts like it. I bet he drinks lattes.....Grrr'

Then I saw the news breaking about Lallana and wondered if Dyche had heard that Potter may have beaten him to the signing: (https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/adam-lallana-transfer-race-hots-22091086). 'Grrr, why should he get any credit. He has it easy. His club supports and helps him. Our lot wouldn't even shell out for Dale Stephens....and I'm way above him in the table. What about me? What about the job I've done? grind grind grind. Better not say anything... grind grind. I'll say that all managers work hard in a way that seems to suggest that I work hardest.'

What an ungracious helmet.

No Duffy in the squad, disappointed none of the 4 U23s on the bench either.

Up and Coming Sunny Portslade
3-5-2 (or 5-3-2 if you put wingbacks in the defence in your formations)?

Duffy off for sure. Ready made replacement in Leeds' Ben White if we can just pursuade the giants of Europe to sell
