it depends what we value him at as we won't go further than that. if the agent says the club would accept 2 million over what we value him, then we sill wouldn't bid. we don't really let selling clubs 'name their price', as it were, if the player doesn't fit our price bracket then though, so i doubt we'd increase an offer just because an agent or the selling club said so unless its within our valuation.

I’m surprised we’ve gone back with a 3rd bid TBH. Must still be within our valuation. Reading would be wrong to turn it down, Shirley? As for Liam, I’m sure he wants to come to the bigger club in the Prem, or maybe he has no ambition?

Similar approach was taken last year..very slow and ponderous with initial signings re fees and as window developed so did purchase prices... I think we are close to an acceptable figure now..

If reports are correct , we've already offered £8m + £3m in add ons. It hasn't lasted any longer than most of our other signings in recent years (given we're not always given a running commentary). Albion are one of the richest clubs in the country. And bought three £10m+ players last season, so if we land him, it would hardly be a surprise.
