[Albion] Bong being abused all game.

Silly old bat
As said, I didn't hear it and I can't make complaints on behalf of someone else and I also think it's possible, even likely he misheard it. But say I did hear it and it there wasn't a chance I misheard, I've not got any evidence or recordings, it was apparently a small group and sung whilst another unacceptable chant was being sung by a larger number of cockwombles so there's likely not going to be any evidence of it on the microphones and if there is it'll be picked up in the investigation being carried out into the monkey chants anyway so what would be the point? The outcome would be the same regardless.

I assume, given your insistence here that you've reported Burnley for the homophobic chants?

Other people have according to our local paper.

Is it possible he misheard it, you said. Is it possbible to mishear something? Think about that long and hard.

It isn’t right for them to label us a town full of racists (I know I’m not a racist for a start), nor is it acceptable for us to label them a town full of benders because they aren’t either.

You’re not standing up to racism, you’re standing up to booing.

If booing is “harassment” as you say then it should be stamped out full stop, that is unless you and the other damp panters on here are going to draft a code of conduct for booing so the rest of us know when it’s harrassment, good fun or virulent racism..

If Bong had broken Rodrigues leg he would have been booed yesterday, and you would have soaked your duvet about that, had it been Dunk probably the same.

We got a point yesterday rejoice.

I've only just got around to reading your reply, sewn as it usually is with tired references to wetting the bed.

Try to enter into some sort of debate without trying to use labels designed to heighten the emotion of your argument.

Your argument falls because Bong was being booed for having the temerity to raise an allegation of racism. And allegation neither proved or disproved. The Burnley fans that were booing him, were doing so because they objected to him reporting a racist comment. It's the act of booing that adds to the plot - the plot is about our ability to deal with racism.

Because he misheard the comment?

Jay Rodriguez has played 311 games at senior level in his career. He has played against or alongside players from a wide range on ethnicity in every one of those games.

Given Rodriguez's long career, why did he choose that player, at that moment, in that game, to make his first racist remark?

PLEASE try to be logical and coherent; you haven't done so well so far.

You couldn't even come up with something original could ya?

We can't know that Rodriguez hasn't racially abused players before. Perhaps he has but the victims have been too afraid of the retribution from petty-minded idiots and bigots to report it. And who could blame them after the abuse you gave Bong. And then you come a-trolling on here trying to defend your abuse of Bong.

But what we do know with 100% certainty is that this is the ONLY time Bong has accused a fellow professional of racially abusing him.

Now what did I say about logic? You didn't think that through chum did you? :lolol:

That's quite a journey you went on there :lolol:

He was talking about football tribalism meaning people will take a side on something related to social events and way above football.

Not quite where you've ended up. Still great effort to get there.

I can read he's saying it's tribalism, that doesn't change the fact his post literally likens (even going so far as to use the words "it's a bit like" and highlighting the word paedophile) the "tribalism" of Burnley fans supporting JR to the "tribalism" shown by some Alabama residents in voting for Roy Moore, an accused paedophile. If the two scenarios aren't at all alike, how can they be "a bit like"?

You can try an belittle me all you want but it doesn't change the fact he likened to the 2 scenarios which in turn likens the 2 accusations. It's not a hard sentence or concept to grasp, unless you're being deliberately obtuse.

Ive had a quick read of the tweets following it

These references in there to Bong going on social media after the decision calling JR a racist. I'm not on twitter or anything - but did he actually do this at all? Or is it actually the BHA / bong statement referenced earlier that they're referring to?

Probably mis-heard it because JR wasn't man enough to say whatever he did without covering his mouth.

Most times players get booed, it dies out fairly early on in the game. It's quite rare for a player to be booed for every touch throughout the whole game - and the fact that Bong was must mean that it was something really serious in your fans' opinion. And you're saying this is all because your fans consider he misheard a comment? The statement that it wasn't because of this, but because he then continued to maintain his view of what he heard after the verdict might be why you yourself were booing, but it doesn't seem, from the comments on the FA twitter feed, to be the reason most fans were booing him does it? There are quite a lot of accusations about him lying and so on.

Do you not think that your fans actions were a bit OTT?

Seen this a bunch of times too. He covered his mouth with the gesture, pinching his nose to suggest that Bong had bad breath, not to hide what he said. I mean, he could have pinched his nipple but that wouldn't have made any sense

Because you get a real accurate representation of a whole demographic from Twitter... But I can't speak for all Burnley fans, just my reasoning and that of those around me I spoke with on Saturday.
