[Albion] Bong being abused all game.

Eh?

So because 'one of your own' was accused of racism, you think it's acceptable to boo the player who believed he was racially abused? Curious logic.

Everyone understands that Rodriguez was accused of racism. What is difficult to understand is how you and others think that justifies the actions of some Burnley supporters.

I'm completely stunned about the amount of Burnley supporters who apparently think this is acceptable. Do you think Bong was wrong to report that he believed he was racially abused?

No one's ever going to know what Rodriguez actually said, but the language he did admit to at the very least makes him come across as a complete bellend.

Why are we even having this debate? It's 2018 ffs.

Indeed, the language that he didn't cover his mouth for makes him look like a petulant 5 years old. One can't help but wonder what he considers bad enough to cover his mouth for.

However this distracts from your main point that the Burnley fans who consider their behaviour appropriate need to give their heads a wobble.

Really! He deliberately covered his mouth so no one could 'see' what was said. Why do that if you're just telling someone their breath smells, and why hide it if you immediately gesture with your other hand to emphasise that?

As for the issue of booing, I don't see that in itself as racist. For example, had there been a different situation, hypothetically that JR had inappropriately touched Bong which no one else had seen and Bong made a complaint then I would imaging the Burnley fans would still have booed him. They weren't booing him because he was black but because he made a complaint about 'one of their own'. If it was racist why did they not boo Jose?

Had there been any monkey chants then that is of course a different matter but I didn't hear any.

The Argus is reporting there were monkey chants.

Based off whoever phoned 606 or TalkSport apparently.... Andy Naylor didn't hear any himself.

Not that I am saying any of this is wrong but can't help but feel we're carving out a bit of a reputation here and unfortunately for Bong will be attracting a bit of a spotlight

A reputation for doing the right thing?

I agree. The whole incident in January was slowing dying down, but thanks to the Burnley fans, it has come right back into the spotlight again. They are perpetuating it, not us.

For that reason, I wouldn't boo Rodriguez if he is playing for a Prem team next season. We are better than that, and it isn't a pantomime scenario.

Bringing up unsubstantiated Monkey chants is unhelpful at this point. it give them the opportunity to redirect the discussion away from their poor behaviour.

Behaving like intelligent adults?? Its a long shot but it might just work.

Although i expect doubt this feud will run and run and in 10 years time people will be saying "So what have WBA got to do with it again?":tantrum::angry::laugh::rolleyes:

I’m not better than that. Rodriguez is a fine player but, I’m afraid, I believe Gaetan. He’s our player and what Rodriguez did on the day,and afterwards, makes him a bigot and a liar.

And it will piss Burnley fans off.

I suspect that many Albion fans will boo him.

I know they will. BH, I also believe Gaetan, as I was at the Hawthorns and his reaction was immediate.

A predictable set of posts actually. “You don’t know what it’s like”. Check. Area pedantry? Check again. Defending racism as Bantz? Checkola. Saying someone else had covered everything then piling in to the whole thread? Absolutely textbook.

Strange isn't it that a Burnley fan should be upset at a thread calling the entire people of a town racist/filth and various other abusive comments.

You don't do irony on here.

And after the Burnley fans did so much on Saturday to make us think differently. You must be gutted.

Spell out the cause. Be very explicit.
The town where they were born and brought up totally and utterly changing before their very eyes by people with no interest whatsoever in integrating, or even learning the language in a lot of cases, , intent on creating a replica of rural Pakistan only with the benefits of housing , healthcare and social services, have you experienced this ? Be very explicit in your reply.

But they deny they're racists.

Something in Burnley doesn't stack up.

No they aren't. I think it's really important to be as accurate as possible here. The Argus are reporting that the club is investigating allegations of monkey chants after a couple of people who called the radio and said that's what they heard.

You asked.for an explicit reply, you got one , and thats the best you can come back with ? I think that the answer i gave goes a very long way to explaining why they are.like they are , and you have no experience of this to formulate an informed answer , they deny theyre racists because as this thread proves, certain elements of.society have it.on a par with child molesting.

"We" booed Bong because he accused one of our own as being racist. I know that it's looked upon as throwaway comment for some of you (and many others), but it's a really nasty thing to accuse someone of.

In the current climate calling someone a racist is very nearly looked upon as someone being vicious murderer.

Rightly or wrongly he was always going to get booed. He's no different to when John Terry, Ashley Cole, Owen Coyle etc got booed at our place.

But he isn't one of your own is he? Muppet. I don't think you are ever going to understand the findings of the commission are you?

You just carry on defending racism. You are doing yourself, your club and your town no credit here chum.
