There seems to be two issues here that have got a bit muddled together.

Firstly the behaviour of the Palace scum jumping the turnstiles and assaulting the stewards. So far as I am aware, CPFC have not issued any banning orders arising out of that kerfuffle. This leads me to wonder whether the spotty oik ultras have got "something" on Disney. Why else would his club have failed to ban those that caused the problems.

Then we have the fact that the police LIED to try to inflame the situation by claiming that knives, knuckledusters and other hardware had been found. And no action is taken against the match commander for his lies. How can we trust the police when they can lie so blatantly yet escape any sanction?

I think how you interpret that depends on your general outlook on the police. There are a lot of people who seem to believe each and every police force and each and every police officer is a wrongun.

That's not my outlook. I think that, like any profession, there are good and bad - both in terms of intent - and also in terms of just being good at a job, or not. So there will be some bad people, but I'm of the inclination that the vast majority are decent people, some of whom are just doing a job, but many of which are genuinely trying to serve the public in the best way they can.

Additionally, just like everyone else, a police officer can make a genuine mistake. They are human after all. However when they do make a mistake, it can have far more significant implications than if many of us have a cock-up on the job.

None of us know the full details of PalaceWeaponGate and I am personally surprised that more of an investigation has not been undertaken or, if one has, why findings have not been made public. However, from bits and pieces I've picked up, it does sound like a very bad example of Chinese Whispers that went unchecked for far too long. I really don't believe a major police force would willingly make up something so serious and hope/expect to not get found out about it.

It's quite simple, don't trust the establishment, they've lied to everyone since the day they were established.

You may well be right but my twopennith worth would simply be how come they weren't questioning it before they put it out? Knuckledusters? Really? Are they even still a thing? Surprised they didn't mention CS gas canisters...

You'd think wouldn't you? I have no idea.

I'd guess a it being symptomatic of it being a pretty intensive operation that brought in many officers from many forces working long hours and communication just went wrong. I am guessing though.

It seems that the palace fans trust have engaged a top london firm of human rights lawyers to commence actions toward sussex police. Initially they have written to them to question some aspects of the police operation on nov 28th.....its anyone's guess where that goes next

I have to say i am also shocked by the level of antagonism coming from football supporters fed fair cop (amanda jacks) on this matter. Despite many fans saying what a great time they have at the amex and others questioning the behaviour of palace fans when they visit their ground (notavly chelsea and man utd) it seems that this group of face covering muppets seem to be immune from criticism

It just makes you wonder. I am sure I am not alone in immediately thinking it sounded more than a little unlikely, for a number of reasons.

I have found Amanda Jacks useful in the past, but shes just doing what she can to justify her job. If she didn't take this issue as far as she could there would be no point having the FSF and her role.

I'm astonished that a "top London firm of human rights lawyers" would be wasting their time on trivia like this. Sure, some of these fans might have a (small) case for being a wee bit disgruntled about how things were managed by Sussex Police on November 28th, but when you look at a list of what might count as a human rights violation in the modern world, this must come pretty near the bottom.

I see what youre saying and to an extent i can understand that. But when i asked how the experiences of palace fans were in context of the many thousands of other club fans who had visited the amex, she responded by referencing back a tweet i had made on the night of the 3rd round draw where i had light heartedly suggested the club may need to utilise an electric fence for the game. In effect asking if i supported their use...

I was told by a union rep that many years of good work can be undone by one instance of defending the indefensible.

...

Rather than a complicated conspiracy theory, maybe it is lack of evidence? If there isn't any evidence, for whatever reason (faces covered or just not identifiable for example), then what can be done?

I would suggest a “top London firm of human rights lawyers “ wouldn’t waste any time on trival cases .

I cant believe Palace are still claiming it is all BHA and the Police's fault! It's as if they dont want to mention that any of their fans caused trouble.... I hope the Stewards put a big claim in to Palace about their injuries.... They might get 10p in the £ compo if they are lucky!

No I don’t but if my club are not going to support the fans turned away I wholeheartedly support the palace trust who will .

If funny how you want your club to support the whiners who couldn't get in yet your club also support the criminals who fought there way in causing the whiners not to get in, isn't it time you sorted yourselves out in house first.

This all reminds be of the England band, every footballer supporter hates them but all the time they are sponsored from above they continue to destroy football atmosphere

To be fair, it's a letter only addressed to Sussex Police.

But this is the point I was making earlier. I can't believe it would be about the so-called 'kettling', and subsequent exit of 100 or so Palace fans to Falmer Station. If it's about the appalling Tweet from then Chief Inspector Nelson, then Sussex Police have already apologised - and this would seek to presume the Palace fans haven't accepted that apology. There is no way it can be about the storming of the exit gates (and hence 'blaming' Sussex Police) either.

I can only assume it's about something else - something we were hitherto previously unaware of.

But this is all speculation.

The Palace stewards have probably been silenced with a nice bonus from the chairman in their back pocket, the Palace carpet must be near the ceiling now with everything being brushed under it
