Players autograph hunting is not what I want to see. If they really feel the need at least do it in private, away from the cameras, and after the game. New rules should be issued to that effect, and any culture of hero worship within our playing staff should be discouraged.

Did you see it kick off at the end when Hughton tried to swop shirts with Klopp?

Not the real one
It shouldn’t have happened. I think it shows that’s some players admire the opposition a little too much. I wonder if this happened against Man U, Arsenal, City, Rooney?? If it happened yesterday, it might well have against these other clubs. It’s not right.

Agree with this. Psychologically it sends out the message we are their inferiors and in awe of them. Not good.

I wonder how many Liverpool players asked for Brighton autographs and shirts?

Couldn’t agree more. It’s all very well having an eye on a big club when we were in the lower divisions, but once you reach the promised land it’s time to pin your colours to the mast.

Is it though?

I saw a couple of half and halvers and made a point of listening to their accent. Most seemed to be German. I guess I can kind of accept that, a tourist with some memorabilia.

But then I saw some ******* walking back through Haywards Heath with one. A guy in his 20s. What a ****.

If I was Hughton I would definitely stop the players getting autographs, especially pre match. It sends out such a bad signal. Brighton are a Premier League club, we’re not here to make up the numbers. We should be doing our best to intimidate the away team, not as for their ****ing autograph FFS.

Totally agree.

No, a reporter.

And, despite some shit-stirring I am told has taken place, I'm told this was well after the match, not before.

They have tweeted and said this was AFTER the game..

I don't understand this mentality that footballers aren't also allowed to be fans.. Once the game is over they can all form a w*nk circle for all I care.

It wasn't.

I guess it’s a bit different after the game. Although I still think it sends out a crap message. Kayal is a Premier League footballer himself, he should remember that. If I was Hughton I would ban the players from doing it.

Re the photo of Salah signing the shirt - context is everything I guess. Maybe the shirt was for a charity auction? Who knows? They also didn't know the photo was being taken, which is a bit different to posing with an opposition players shirt and posting it on social media. If, however, it was personal trophy hunting then perhaps the players need reminding of the message this type of fawning sends to supporters and perhaps on how it may affect their performance on the pitch

Grow up... ban the players from being human!!!

As I have already said, where is the context.

Let's just say for one minute that Kayal was getting the Liverpool players to sign a Brighton shirt for the young mascot who was being talked about on Facebook the other day. Is he banned from doing that too?

Too many people on here being too precious and amateur sports psychologists for my liking :lolol:

Do you think Brian Clough would have allowed his players to get autographs from the opposition? Alex Ferguson? No chance.

Having never asked for anyone’s autograph in my life, except once for my daughter, I don’t even understand Albion fans wanting opposition players autographs, let alone our players. But each to their own, let’s not get too precious about it.

Perhaps Salah asked for Kayals autograph first and they are swapping
