But you weren't scoring with Benteke in the side before he got injured. Genuine question - If you were creating chances under both FdB and Hodgson then what do you think will be different when Benteke comes back that he will start converting the chances?

Apart from the opening day of the season, Benteke hasn't had Zaha's supply line.

The fact is you've been to four of the top six away whereas we've only had to do that once so far. You don't have to play another top 6 side until December 28th and before then we have to go to Manchester United, Spurs, Chelsea and host Liverpool. You really shouldn't be 11 points adrift of us by the time you face Arsenal.

Agree with this.

So it's safe to say not all is rosy at Selhurst right now, regarding club employment, not the position you find yourselves in.

We've always changed managers frequently, due to rank crapiness ( Burley,Taylor,FDB) managers resigning (Pulis,BFS) or falling on there sword ( Holloway, Warnock)
We're use to it.

That's why I said he needs to hit the ground running.
He scored 15 last season, so he needs to be in double figures again for us to have any hope.

Having seen some Prem sides this season, I have to say you have to be awful to go down. Much better sides in the Championship than some in the Prem. Swansea were awful and you lost to them, but I think you have a better squad. Have you got a squad to keep you up?

Our first 11 should be good enough, but the squad isn't.
A couple of bad injuries won't do us any favours.

Personally, and all the banter asides, I like being in a division where we have a rival, gives an edge to your season. We may never win the Prem but it's good to play the hated ones.

Why, in your opinion, was FDB recruited in the first place? As was mentioned on here, his style of play wasn't a match for your players, and, it did seem a bit strange that a club with two decent wingers and a centre forward who knows where the goal is, didnt appear to want a manager who would play to those strengths.

According to Experimental361, so far this season them up the road have been:-

Winning 5.5% Drawing 39.6% Losing 54.8%

Unsurprisingly we are:-

25.4% - 49.3% - 25.4%

How very Hughton
We have drawn half our games and only won a quarter? First time I can remember seeing 3 = 2 X 4

It's no secret that quite soon after his appointment, senior players were questioning his approach. He was never a good fit for our club, and I wanted Dyche, who I thought was a ideal choice.
A monumental cock up by the club.
We are finally playing to our strengths, but only time will tell if it's too late .

You are leaving it late, it will be the Great Escape if you ever get out of this mess.

In all seriousness, I reckon the best thing your chairman could do right now is employ a Chief Exec and step away from the day-to-day running of Palace.

Did any supporters, or interested journos not question his appointment? With his style of play at Ajax etc, did no one at the club ask how you would play under him, and how you would achieve it without endangering your PL place, or spending monumental amounts of money on players who could.

We've got one , Phil " teflon" Alexander, a man who's survived two administrations.

Then I reckon he's either not very good at his job or Parish is interfering where he shouldn't because the role of the Chief Exec is supposed to be overall charge of day-to-day business including liaising with the press and public and generally being the face of the club.

I think Palace will stay up and if I liked a little flutter for a bit of fun then I would back them to do that right now as the timing is ideal.

My belief is that they will be able to achieve something like 1.3 - 1.4 pts per game from their remaining fixtures and they will ultimately survive with between 39 and 42 pts.

We are very lucky to have Paul Barber & Tony Bloom in charge. They are a good pairing.

You've perfectly captured my take on it all right there.

If they were 3/1 then I might agree with you, but they are actually only a best priced 6/4 to stay up. I think that's probably about right and therefore there is no value there.
